    My ISP just upgraded to 2.0 Gbps. I upgraded my cable modem and network switch to 2.5 GbE. I added this NIC to my PC as well. Works great. Steam sometimes supports > 200MB/sec downloads and it’s glorious for those 100 GB games.

    One small correction, it's not Sequential, it's Symmetric (both Upload and Download are mirrored in speed).
    Excellent video nonetheless. I am looking to upgrade my home network to be a bit snappier plus I am also setting up a home lab. This video definitely helped me in making a decision, perhaps not to directly purchase this product but to take the actual step of upgrading my Desktop's default Ethernet for something aftermarket and standalone.

      @@holliecrawford3202 As long as the modem supports 2gbps, no you don't need a gigabit switch. In fact the gigabit switch is less than half the bandwidth so it would be a detriment

    I have 1 Gig down 40 Mb up, I'm running a cat 6 cable from ISP router to computer, if I get the TP-Link 2.5GB PCIe Network Card (TX201) will that speed go back to the router via that same cable ? Then I can use the other lan port jack coming off router going to the TL-SG108-M2 8 port switch in basement which goes to all the cat 5e runs in my home, will it turn my entire lan network into 2.5G ? Then In living room I have the TP Link TL-SG105-M2 5 port 2.5 switch which has cat 6 running to my PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Smart TV for which I needed a wired connection for competitive gaming on my consoles. I'm hoping I can get that 2.5G speed to my consoles. Home has wired runs of cat 5e, but I bought Cat 6 cables to plug into the sockets in the walls of home. In computer room I have cat 6 going from modem to router, router to computer, router to wall jack, wall run has 5e, 7 of them in basement hooked into the 8 port switch. Living room cat5e in wall, hooked to wall socket is cat 6 going to the 5 port 2.5G switch, then I have 6 foot cat 6 cables (4) of them going to PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Smart Gaming Oled TV.

      Your router has to be 2.5gbps to get the full TX201 throughput for your internal local area network. However, lets just assume it is. Your internet bandwidth would still bottleneck the tx201 for all of your PC's/Consoles unless you're only gaming within the local area network aka without leaving through the internet. Even then I doubt the gaming consoles would have 2.5 gigabit cards in them. IMO it's not worth it because of your existing gigabit internet speed. Unless you have the game server within the LAN, you'll have to pass through using your existing gigabit internet speed for said game.

    Hi do you think this will improve my connection? Because i tried multiple connection products my pc default gets like 150mbps download and upload 10mbps while the other products made it worse so do you think this will improve it? My motherboard already came with an antenna but will this improve it? Because i need best connection for streaming. Also my pc is upstairs and router downstairs.

    • @SystematicHardware
      @SystematicHardware  Год назад

      It depends on your internet conncetion and what speed you're paying for. If it's over 1Gbps then yes the adapter will help make a difference.

      @@SystematicHardware Hi can I jump in on this thread. My current speed is 76Mbps. I`m going to upgrade in the next few days the max speed I can get from ISP which is 900Mbps. I already have the 2.5G TP-Link TX20, but I also have just purchased the x2 TX401, 10 Gigabit version one is installed to my music pc and one is installed to my windows NAS. I have the QNAP QSW-2104-2T 2ports 10GbE RJ45 5port these are connected with CAT 7 cables. Could you say roughly what type of speeds I would achieve when I upgrade my internet speed with my provider? As i`m gathering I am only able to achieve 900mb on my home network would this be correct?
