There are some videos on RUclips on how to download the mods safely. Once you click the download button you'll get a notification saying IT COULD harm your device but if you follow the steps correctly without messing up it should be safe. The only thing that'll cause a virus to your phone is that after you press the download button it'll take you to a different website if that happens come off it immediately and that means closing all your tabs.
If you are afraid that you'll mess your device up don't download it but I can't control your actions all I can do is give advice whether you take it or not (if that makes any sense at all)
