I guess Rob and Ryan weren’t exaggerating when they said the bureaucracy in Wales is unreal. These issues wouldn’t take much time at all to work out and get past in America.

That depends on the city, same as in the UK I’m sure.

I'm glad that the club has finally said something as it was getting to a point that was verging on the ridiculous. Re: temporary seating I think most are only suggesting this because they're expecting the delays to be extended. If they can turn around the temporary stand for a decent capacity at a decent timeframe and the KOP won't even start even getting built within 6 months, I think it could be worthwhile...

Nice discussion. They are certainly frustrated! I personally don’t fault the organization for excessive red tape, legal, engineering, and safety issues inherent with such projects. But sadly, the romance of the Racecourse ground may eventually have to be sacrificed in their pursuit of the Premier League.

It's gotta happen for a number of reasons. 1) they'll need the revenue. 2) Like now, their popularity will cause allot of pressure to increase stand capacity to accommodate demand.

Nice commentary. I'm a huge Canadian fan and have been holding off my trip to Wrexham because of the ticket situation. Can I ask that you give another update when more information comes out? It's frustrating how thick the red tape is. Things here move allot quicker. It sounds like it'll be at least another year before they begin construction. Sad.

Hello! We'll definitely do another video once ground is broken on the new stand and keep updating thereafter. Another 5,500 capacity should help the ticketing situation but it won't be a golden ticket to solving it entirely. It will be an incredible addition though

What confuses me is how did no one notice the sewer line and power station needed to be moved until the project was this far along? They put those plans out over a year ago. Why didn’t the town reroute the sewer line over the summer? Who’s in charge? The guy from the opening of Hitchhiker’s Guide?
“Mr. Dent, the plans have been on display at the local planning office for over a year!”
“On display? I had to go down into a cellar to find them in a locked file cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door that said ‘beware of the leopard’!”
    “That’s the display department…”

Definitely strange that some of these problems weren't floated months back as architects went over the plans to about 45 pages of detail

The bottom line is that if the ultimate goal is going to be realised we will need a new ground on a new site. This was the case for Bolton Wanderers and no club was more attached to their old ground than Bolton fans were to Burnden Park. The facilities at their new ground ups the match day experience ten fold though. Millions of pounds could be spent on the Racecourse patching it up heat and there for years. If the club is to move forward we have to be prepared to move and build a stadium truly fit for the 21st century, this is not possible on the current site. I’m at Bolton as I type, looking down on the pitch through patio doors with a pint in my hand and a chicken burger on its way. It’s hard to even get to the toilet in time at Wrexham. The Racecourse will never be fit for purpose again unless everything goes wrong and crowds fall to 5k. That, I’m afraid, is a fact so it f we want to continue to grow and climb the leagues then we have to look at building a new stadium.

I live in the USA. Why is a section on the right side of Macron stand empty? I don’t know if it’s every game, but I’ve noticed it in the past. Could those seats be used?

It's the designated Quiet Zone. Wouldn't be fair to flood empty seats there with everyday fans

There is limited expansion potential on the old stadium, waste of money knocking down this stand, that stand for redevelopment, would be better to find a new site & build a build completely new stadium & sell the old site,& they should never have built that student accomdation on the site, that will come back to haunt them...

Would genuinely be intrigued to hear from people proposing alternative sites for a ground.

@@robryanred There's a certain amount of Kudos involved with R&R being able to say they own "the oldest international football stadium in the world" - which is one reason I think, they're placing so much importance on meeting the EUFA criteria needed to continue to be able to keep saying this, going forward.
The 'problem'...is their ambition, or their vision for Wrexham FC. What is it?
Do they want us to (eventually) just 'get there'...and be another Bournemouth-type Premier League Club with small-ish crowds? Or do they want us to get there...and be an established/sustainable Prem Club - with room to grow?
Because of the location and surroundings of the Racecourse, we're limited on the expansion front! Many, many millions would have to be spent - purely buying-up the ground needed - to expand on _three_ sides of the ground...and then you have the Mold Road side, which is what it is, and not much could be done there, expansion-wise!

They should take the Elon Musk Approach and put up temporary stands

The problem with this is won't they need to take it down soon as they want to start the building work? Seems like it only makes sense if no work starting before the end of this season, no?

@@robryanred It just feels like right now it’s tied up in paperwork and there won’t be any movement before the end of the season, I guess we’ll find out in Welcome to Wrexham Season 3, I’m in Houston Texas and like listening.
