Love Shoma’s skating on this! So complex, so quiet, yet it builds and builds. I believe this program is Stephane’s best choreographed short program for him. All Shoma fans are feeling a bit overwhelmed right now because it’s looking like he may retire at the end of the season and we’re not ready!
What kind of sense does it make for Shoma to project this introspective, hypnotic program out? I am watching the swan song of an artist who we watched develop. What an honor and privilege!
I was thinking same thing! Was that a backhanded compliment from Kurt or merely an observation? I loved that about Shoma. Draws you in but it’s still like happening upon someone on a frozen pond quietly making great art and is absorbed and not aware you are there. Others do more outward showy programs, like Kurt did. I love the variety in mens skating, of music, of styles. Will always prefer it to women’s!
Wish I could have seen him once, like this years in Boston but happy for him and his retirement. He also seems to be enjoying new adventures like playing monkey d luffy in one piece on ice.

One of my favourite short programs of the season! Shoma really brought life to the beautiful music and choreography. It fit him so well ❤❤❤
