Everything Asuka done is not out of malice nor out of curiosity as scientist. While Justice destroy japan to stop Universal Will is Asuka fault, but in the end Justice is the one who go rampage out of guilt and control gear to annihilate humanity

Asuka R# is actually a clone of Asuka R Kreutz but you can still play as normal Asuka by clicking up on the character selection screen i believe. As for the cat ears im unsure

Asuka made a doppelganger to do all his fighting and the cat ears are gone because he got a design update.
