The last thing I needed was to start another project, but that one is calling to me so much. Eggs!! Thanks for watching, Beck. I’m watching yours right now.
What an exciting, overwhelming experience! So many great things to see and people to meet. I liked your walk around the brag table and I love ‘Simple Gifts-Courage’. I noticed it during the walk and I’m so glad you purchased it. The gifts and haul were fun to see as well. I enjoyed hearing about the basket raffle and auction, you are the first one that I’ve watched that made mention of it. The money raised-WOW! Hope you get rested up soon!
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m still in awe of the auction results. We actually just learned that stitchers from both Weekend A and B raised $70,000 for the furniture bank - that’s 280 beds! I’m so happy I could be a VERY small part of that.
Same here! Hope you’re settling back into “reality” smoothly. I wish we could do a retreat every month, but having to wait a whole year makes it special, right?
Hi Sally. I have just found you! It is 7/28 and I have watched a number oh Stitch Con recaps and yours is outstanding! I have never been to a retreat and wondered if I would be comfortable at one. You included such wonderful number of details - like bring a camp chair for the wait time before the room opens, how the ' kit up' option works, the amazing auction and generous bidding. Other recaps showed a large, very noisy, room of 300 people who didn't seem to get much stitching done. Your recap let me see the great spirit of community. I can see myself in that scenario.
Hi Caryl! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I’m really glad you enjoyed my video. I encourage you to try a retreat. They are everywhere now, and I bet there’s one near you thats smaller than Stitch-Con so easier to “jump” into. I think it’s really fun to meet other stitchers and I hope to bump into you sometime.
I am happy that you had such great time at Stitch Con! I wish I could go to the Prep Rally Retreat, I would love to meet Stitching with the Housewives but unfortunately I live in the Netherlands so that's to expensive to travel... Hope you will have a great time then! Happy stitching! 😁
Looks like you had a fab time. I'm going to my first retreat next year, but much smaller (and in the UK). And what a fabulous charity event as well, if I've got my maths right, you collectively raised 124 beds, which is amazing❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much for watching! I hope you have fun at your first retreat. I think smaller can be so much fun because you get to know people better. And they have a tendency to grow as people learn about them, too. Making stitchy friends is my favorite part!
Sally, lol, that IS a pretty dangerous tchotchke you showed being a girl from Michigan... your secret's safe with me. 💙💛 Thanks for the round up of your Stitch Con experience. It's on my someday bucket list. 😊
I’m keeping the jar in hiding, lol. I figured Michiganders would know the risk I am taking. Can’t wait to meet you in person at 141 Pep Rally! Three more months!!
Hi Sally! I met you in line at the annex and yes you are so right about the artsy housewife’s model of the fox and apples it was so AMAZING and eye catching. Loved your joy of EGGS! 🥚🥚 I ended up getting the vicious pattern as well and plan to change the cat colors to match one of our vicious angels 😇
Hi again! I think it’s going to take me a full month to recover from last weekend, though my vicious Audrey is bringing me back to reality - she’s so offended I left. What color is your cat? Mine is kind of a “rusty” tabby, mostly gray with a little bit of ginger in her ancestry somewhere.
@@SallyStitchesAnd well I have two vicious kitties. One is solid black (Nyx) and the other is grey and white, thinking I’ll change it to Celeste the grey and white one. I know recovery is definitely going to take a minute! I’m still in awe of it all and loving all the pictures I’m seeing ❤️❤️
Hi Sally! I don’t remember if you officially met at Stitch Con or not, but I do have one of your stickers! I think you were blessed with an amazing table of stitchers around you! Lucky lady indeed! Just wanted to say Hi, and that yes, Stitch Con was an amazing, yet exhausting weekend! I love your Artsy Housewife choices! I also like the moth on the Aztec red fabric! I would love to go more retreats but finances, work and family keep me from doing a lot too. Hopefully we will meet in person at some point! Blessings!
Hi Monica! Stitch-Con was a blur but I’m glad we could meet after if we didn’t meet in person. I’m happy to know you received my sticker. I’m already brainstorming ideas for next year. People were sooooo creative and generous and I want to step up my game. Thanks for finding me online!
Dang i can’t help to be a bit envious with the friendships that i will never experience. Flosstube has a double edge because I love to see everything but I can’t help but to want to be a part of all that but just isn’t possible. From the heart I feel like we could be fast friends but that will never happen. Flosstube is really hard to be on the outside all the time but I guess I wouldn’t want it otherwise
Keri, your comment here touched my heart. FOMO (fear of missing out) is something I’ve struggled with a lot over the years, especially when my kids were in elementary school. It was really hard to be happy for parents excited about their children’s milestones when my child wasn’t doing any of that. Feeling isolated happens to so many people. Sometimes it’s a health thing, or living a long distance away, or not being able to afford a retreat. There are still other ways you can connect, though. I’ve made some friends by “stitching in public” - at a coffee shop, park, public library, etc. I’ve also done zoom retreats like The Jingle Ball or a Facebook group. Many of my crafty friends I met on Instagram first, then found out they don’t live too far away. It can be a small crafty world sometimes. I bet if you keep looking, you’ll find some local friends that love stitching like you do. But in the meantime, let’s be not-so-local friends! If you don’t do social media and want to drop me an email, you can reach me at sallyyoun@gmail.com. Thanks so much for commenting and watching my videos.
So much Stitchy goodness. The brag table is insane with talented stitchers! Looks like you had so much fun!!
It was amazing! I hope you get to come sometime.
I think Moonstone would be a perfect fabric choice for Coffee and Eggs!

Thanks for watching, Nora! I’ve always wanted to visit the Netherlands someday. How is the local stitching scene?

Nice video. Very enjoyable and interesting. I live just south of you in the great State of Michigan!
Hi neighbor! Thanks so much for watching. Hope you are enjoying the same nice weather this weekend we’ve had up here.
