About XG:
XG are a group composed of Japanese members. However, they consider themselves a global group due to being Japanese, singing/rapping mainly in English, and using the kpop training system. Their CEO, Simon, is half Korean and half Japanese which explains why XG alone is diverse in using both Korean and Japanese music styles. Regardless of singing/ rapping mainly in English, they still incorporate Korean and Japanese, especially in their cyphers/covers.
Their style mainly consists of hip hop and R&B, especially the old school early 2000s style, that’s why when people react to them they feel some type of nostalgia. XG has been one of the very few groups who is bringing back the old style to the fullest.
I’m glad you reacted to them! They are my favorite girl group of all time now. Their level of talent and fierceness is unmatched! Nobody is doing it like them!

@@PilipBwoy there's more risk to call themselves J-pop or K-pop because they could potentially receive more backlash. if they call themselves J-pop their hater would say how dare they call themselves J-pop while promoting in SK and working with Korean staff. Same thing if they call themselves K-pop, they would say how dare this Japanese group who only sings English call themselves K-pop. Identify as X-pop while still receive some backlash is like the safest choice.
@@PilipBwoyactually no. They trained and are BASED in japan. The girls themselves say that’s why they consider Korea to be their second home. If it wasn’t for training in Korea they wouldn’t be as developed as they are now (talent wise). The Japanese idol training system is nowhere near as intense as the Korean idol training system, an example of this would be Sakura from Le Sserafim. She was an idol in japan for 7+ years yet she wasn’t good at singing, dancing, stage presence, ect until she moved to Korea and became a trainee once again to join Izone. Now that she’s in Le Sserafim she’s very talented, her singing is great, her dancing is great, and her stage presence is great. Idk what’s yalls obsession with discrediting kpop and the Korean training system💀

I’ll be honest…I’m 100% a fan of BTS, they are my one and ultimate fav. I have not been hooked on other groups since I first came across Bangtan in 2019 but I swear XG literally became my fav girl group. They give me the closest to the excitement I experienced when I found BTS. No other group had truly giving me that experience. I’m also OBSESSED with Jurin. She is soooooo good!

Sadly, a chunk of kpop stans are hating on them because XG uses the kpop system as well as the style. But these fans fail to realize that if they wanna talk about “stealing” or “using”, we can remind them that the kpop industry does the same thing with different cultures to use as their aesthetic, especially african American culture. First generation kpop did just that but XG seem to be the ones getting the blame.

I first saw XG perform Shooting Star on Inkigayo and they just blew everybody else off the show that day!! Had to watch the dance practice and OMG, wait for it, the BTS connection...one of the choreographers is none other than Sienna LaLau / The Lab (ON, Run BTS, Chicken Noodle Soup). The MV is super cute and totally leveled up from their previous work but the members themselves also leveled up - they brought their A1 game during their promotions and deserve your praise.

My best friends were surprised when I quickly ranked XG in my top 5 groups after only releasing 4(ish) songs. For context, I've been listening to Kpop (I know they're not Kpop but for me they scratch that same itch yknow?) for 17 years and I'm rarely super invested in a group until they've got a few albums out. XG hooked me in with Tippy Toes and they just KEPT SLAYING! The Xypher alone is what made me put them in my top 5 GGs. And I loved seeing that we had the same exact reaction to Jurin LOL

Mascara was the very first thing I listened from XG and I fell for them SO HARD. when you said they make you feel some type way you've never felt before THAT'S EXACTLY HOW I FELT and JURIN is so freaking charismatic, I immediately chose her as my bias aswelll!!! Their aura is a mix of their natural selves and all the fkn insane amount of work they did to debut! After watching their XTRA videos my whole perspective on them as individuals and as artists, changed. I love them sooo much because they have this intense passion for what they do, and it really shines through in all of their songs ♡ This reaction was so fun to watch cuz literallyyyy same HAHAHA

i think the best part of tippy toes as a debut song is, just as you said, it was simple and laid back so it acted as just a teaser/taster for what was to come. with each comeback they go harder and harder and it feels like a really organic progression of their music!

I was never interested in Kpop but when I started following them and their music and watch the XG documentary series xtra xtra I started loving them. Of course they are a global group and not just kpop, they are different than any group out there❤The documentary shows us what they went through to be XG(xtraordinary girls). They were at the Head in The Clouds Festival and they were amazing❤ lol I bought the ticket just to see them❤

Tippy Toes is a genius debut song. Like they're singing about keeping us on our tippy toes and there being so much more to come WHICH IS RIGHT. They showed that they're insane dancers and have incredible stage presence.

I don't think I was into a group so fast so hard since I got into K-Pop with Dreamcatcher. I started to listen to XG just a week ago myself and oh boy did I listen to the few songs they got on repeat. Though I still have to get behind TGIF.

But tbh the dance practice turned me around. The choreo is fire, just really fun to watch (Chisa stood out to me in this especially, she seems to live this concept). Their attitude as well and while I normally advocate for longer songs, in this case I think it's the perfect length because it avoids getting repetitive.
So, tl;dr: I like the song, I love the choreo.

Just like another group we love, they try and maintain that hip hop aura. They are Japanese, singing in English and using 3 languages. The have a 90s/2000s R&B sound but can also do the poppier stuff too. And each one of them is extremely talented in their own. 4 rappers, 3 vocalists = 1 badass group
This is my first time listening too! I would say if the rap line of BTS and 3RACHA had a baby, XG would be the baby.

i havent been excited nor listened to any idol group for a quite long time as they all feel the same to me now, but to my surprise XG is the only group that really hooked me. They seem so fresh and different from any group now and really go all out with their concept and talent. idk what it is but the way they present themselves as an individual and group is really balanced and can easily hook you into wanting to know more, or to just simply think "oh yeah they on different level"
