  • We set ourselves up at the Tall Timbers RV Stop and head out to go to the Edge of the World on Tasmania’s West Cost. While camping at Lake Gairdner, we venture into Cradle Mountain and do the walk around Dove Lake before walking along Ronny Creek to wombats in the wild. Pushing onto Zeehan we look at the Spray Tunnel and then move onto Strahan.

This was a wonderful video as I had been to all the places you visited & recognised the museum as we went through it as well & wished that they had someone guiding you. So I am hoping that you did get a lovely sunny day for your boat trip as it is a trip to remember. I did the boat trip up the Arthur River as well & it was fantastic. Sad you didn't see an echidna at Cradle mountain as that is where we saw them in the wild. The wombats were probably 3 generation to the ones I saw everywhere. I could smell the fresh air when you were walking down the trails & I bought a print of the walkways that remind me of my visit to Arthur river & it hangs on my wall to remind me of Tasmania. I also did the train trip to Queenstown which was interesting but also boring in places as well as it is a long trip, also the carriages have been updated. We were given a free treat on the trip & it was way out of date & stale. Wait til you go to climb out of Queenstown to head towards Hobart, it is one tall mountain. When heading east look out for the sign post that tells you that you are in the middle of Tasmania. Unfortunately, Straun was closed the day we were there so I wasn't able to buy a Huan pine memento. Yes, there is so much to see & do over there so I have truly enjoyed today's video!! Looking forward to next week's to see how you enjoyed your boat trip & train trip.

A wonderfully put together video and an inspiration for our next trip. Seems at the 18.55 point of the video those crazy Tasmanians drive around in reverse which we'll find challenging with the camper trailer
Thanks for putting the video up and safe travels.

    Hey Mick,
Just watching your video, 20 years ago we did the Arthur River Cruise and were told that Arthur River is the only River in Tassie that has never been logged, which is why there is heaps of "driftwood" on the beach

As you mentioned while in Zeehan, the old architecture is wonderful and should be kept…..sadly a number were knocked down in the 1970’s round Hobart! Very sad!

Hi Mick & Sally, just started watched your videos and really enjoying them, we are planning to head to Tasmania in February next year so we are looking forward to your vlogs over the next few months. May I make one suggestion. I think you maybe holding your mic to close to your mouth when narrating. We watch it on a Media room with a sub-woofer and are picking up a soft low thump coming through from your wind hitting the mic (at least thats what is sounds like). However, really enjoying your style of narrating and showing so much of the area and very informative. Keep it up.

Cheers for that, it is not easy putting the videos together when confined to a caravan. Glad you are liking the videos apart form that noise, hope you have a great trip when you get over here, it is a great place to spend time here.

Hi, great info and insight, Tassie is so much like NZ, which by the way is a bit of land between there and Argentina😅
