Her debut single in the UK "Love Story" came out before the Kanye West incident, it peaked at number 2 on the UK top 40, her other song You Belong With me was on repeat on every music channel at one point. Just because you or your peers don't know her doesn't mean the rest of Britain doesn't, she's sold out stadium tours in the O2 aswell. The British are really down to earth and humble because they have culture and values. It isn't limited to just the British, It is most of Europe ( they have a deep rooted history of values amongst each other )
