My theory in with the aid of chat gpt. Given the timing, locations, and scope of the NOTAMs issued by the FAA on November 25-26, 2024 (Maguire Air Force Base) and December 4-20, 2024 (covering broader areas of New Jersey), there is a strong possibility that the mystery drones could be related to U.S. government operations, including military tests or classified missions. Here’s why this theory holds weight: 1. Strategic Military Locations • Maguire Air Force Base (part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst) is a major U.S. military installation, making it a logical staging area for testing advanced drone or unmanned aerial systems (UAS). • Picatinny Arsenal, another restricted area due to the drones, is a military research facility specializing in advanced weapons development. • The proximity to these sensitive sites strongly suggests potential U.S. government involvement, either for testing, surveillance, or defense-related missions. 2. Scope and Secrecy • The size of the restricted areas and the issuance of temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) hint at large-scale operations that would typically require military or federal oversight. • The secrecy surrounding the drones, along with statements from the FBI and FAA declining to disclose specifics, aligns with how classified missions are typically handled. 3. NOTAM Language and Restrictions • The language in the NOTAMs-particularly referencing “UAS activity” and “airspace protection”-is often used in connection with government or military testing. • If the drones were from private companies, these companies would typically have applied for FAA waivers or conducted public outreach, neither of which has occurred. 4. Historical Precedents • The U.S. military has previously been linked to unexplained drone sightings, such as during similar mysterious drone events in Colorado and Nebraska in late 2019. These incidents were never officially explained, fueling speculation about military drone exercises. 5. Lack of Public Disclosure • The federal government’s reluctance to comment further despite widespread public concern could be attributed to operational security. • If the drones were foreign or posed a security threat, authorities would likely issue more explicit public warnings. Possible Scenarios: 1. Military UAS Testing or Exercises: Testing of surveillance, reconnaissance, or combat drones. 2. Homeland Security Operations: A counter-drone program or response to an undisclosed threat. 3. Advanced Research Programs: Testing of classified drone technology under a DARPA or DoD initiative. Conclusion: While there’s no official confirmation, the combination of FAA-issued NOTAMs, drone sightings near military and strategic locations, and the U.S. government’s tight-lipped response strongly suggests that the drones could be part of classified military or federal testing missions. This would explain the broad airspace restrictions and the continued lack of public disclosure.

Funny to me the number of Americans weighing in on what is really obvious to this Canadian with our low tech, low rent military. It IS the military. With drones being heavily used in the Russia-Ukraine War, the military is practicing things like dogfighting drones without having to resort to larger, slower to respond aircraft like helis and jets.
Or they're doing drill at night using coordinated drones. It's become the next step beyond one operator or two operating one drone, for a small team of drone pilots to fly a squadron of drones, even beyond visual line of sight. With the extensive use of drones in the Russia/Ukraine War, the US military has a keen interest in staying on top of the use of drones in warfare.

At first glance, they appear to just be hovering orbs but if you watch them long enough, you can tell theyre moving and eventually land. If i were a more gullible, less aware person, I might mistake them for "drones."I actually live directly underneath the flight path of airliners landing at the airport and at night, the airplanes look identical to some of the ones in these videos because of the way their lights look.
Here’s why this theory holds weight:
1. Strategic Military Locations
• Maguire Air Force Base (part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst) is a major U.S. military installation, making it a logical staging area for testing advanced drone or unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
• Picatinny Arsenal, another restricted area due to the drones, is a military research facility specializing in advanced weapons development.
• The proximity to these sensitive sites strongly suggests potential U.S. government involvement, either for testing, surveillance, or defense-related missions.
2. Scope and Secrecy
• The size of the restricted areas and the issuance of temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) hint at large-scale operations that would typically require military or federal oversight.
• The secrecy surrounding the drones, along with statements from the FBI and FAA declining to disclose specifics, aligns with how classified missions are typically handled.
3. NOTAM Language and Restrictions
• The language in the NOTAMs-particularly referencing “UAS activity” and “airspace protection”-is often used in connection with government or military testing.
• If the drones were from private companies, these companies would typically have applied for FAA waivers or conducted public outreach, neither of which has occurred.
4. Historical Precedents
• The U.S. military has previously been linked to unexplained drone sightings, such as during similar mysterious drone events in Colorado and Nebraska in late 2019. These incidents were never officially explained, fueling speculation about military drone exercises.
5. Lack of Public Disclosure
• The federal government’s reluctance to comment further despite widespread public concern could be attributed to operational security.
• If the drones were foreign or posed a security threat, authorities would likely issue more explicit public warnings.
Possible Scenarios:
Conclusion:
While there’s no official confirmation, the combination of FAA-issued NOTAMs, drone sightings near military and strategic locations, and the U.S. government’s tight-lipped response strongly suggests that the drones could be part of classified military or federal testing missions. This would explain the broad airspace restrictions and the continued lack of public disclosure.

The government is looking to pass new legislation. This is a pysop
Very good, a possibility and after significant legislation is passed, the drones suddenly drop back less and less… to nothing.
About what?
Or they're doing drill at night using coordinated drones. It's become the next step beyond one operator or two operating one drone, for a small team of drone pilots to fly a squadron of drones, even beyond visual line of sight. With the extensive use of drones in the Russia/Ukraine War, the US military has a keen interest in staying on top of the use of drones in warfare.

I'm in downtown Manhattan, and I've seen several in as little as an hour.
If you were planning on defending Manhattan against foreign drones operated in Manhattan, what would you use to combat them? In numerous tests it has been shown that simply interfering with comms isn't necessarily going to work, so one tactic is to literally take another drone, lock onto the target drone and smash it out of the sky.
Likely an exercise in US drone warfare, Imagine swarms of drones as a missle defence shield over sensitive sites. What would be cool, if multiple drones assembled into something larger. Appears to be a DoD exercise, it is all over the world, and no one is attacking these things. Making me think, we own them.
Exactly this,
Too many people are overlooking the fact that we are essentially in the stages of a cold war that could get hot at any time.
Due to the ports in NJ and sensitive military areas, it's likely surveillance which could very well be due to a threat that the public is unaware of... They could be trying to prevent us from another 9/11 level event, or worse.

‘Hovering’ can be a small aircraft heading directly toward or away from you…it’s really hard to tell at night. I’m not saying there aren’t ‘mystery’ drones, I’m just saying a typical civilian isn’t educated enough about what they’re seeing to understand if it’s a small airplane or a ‘mystery’ drone. This should be apparent when authorities say they have 5,000 reports and about 100 are unexplained.
i live on a mountain and have a direct line of sight to a busy international airport about 60 miles away (in a straight line) and one of the runways is pointed straight at me. At any given time at night, you can see at least 5 airliners lined up to land with their landing lights on, all at different altitudes.
Seriously though, I've combed through at least 100 videos and photos of these so called "mystery drones," and so far I've been able to clearly see they are just regular aircraft.
