For me, the biggest regency rule he broke was really the one where he interrupted the dance between Pen and Lord Debling because it was so public and yooooo, that was literally declaring to the whole TON that 'this girl is mine' 😂 as compared to the others where it was a bit private and could still be covered with excuses. it was extremely disrespectful to barge in during a dance! Colin was UNHINGED 😂 even if he didn't propose that very night, Penelope was already considered as unavailable at that point and Violet may as well be rushing them off to get married the next day 😂

Oh I think he had excellent character development it’s just that he didn’t have a lot of character exposition in part two because the focus shifted from Colin in part one to Pen in part two. In part two we had to rely more on Newts acting. It’s there though for the people paying attention.

I slightly disagree with the fan and the lashes scene because I think he had every confidence that she could do that because he’s only seen her realistically interact with him all members of his family where she is her true self her confidence self he hasn’t seen her interacting with other members of the time so he doesn’t know what she’s like with people she doesn’t really know.
