“The creepy guy” is Steve Buscemi. One of Adam Sandler close friends who is in almost every one of his movies. FUN FACT: He was also a firefighter and during 911 donated his time to NYFD and helped clear the towers! Man is a legend!
Not only was he a Firefighter, but he actually worked for an Engine Company in Manhattan. The day after the 9/11 attack he showed up at his old firehouse and worked 12 hours shifts for a week, digging people out of the rubble. He's also in recent years spoken about some of the PTSD he has from what he saw that week.... some truly terrible things.
fun fact Adam Sandler wrote and was set to release this movie in the mid 1990s, with Chris Farley in the Kevin James role. Farley's death in 1997 halted production plans, and the film was shelved for more than a decade.
Not getting 100% praise and ass kissing isn't "hate." There's valid criticisms of this film. The main one being he's literally playing the same character again--ultra rich successful nice guy with smoking hot wife that somehow has martial trouble. I like this movie. It's pretty funny, but I can accept that it's objectively a bad movie and that's okay. You liking something doesn't mean it's perfect.

Studios either want a low budget film that will make bank or a big spectacle blowout. 1000s of families around the world sat down and watched this together, and tbh that's always more important. You can go down the critic route but pretty soon you find that every movie you watch starts to feel like a POS. Yes, it ain't a masterpiece, but masterpieces are rarely accessible or satisfying to the general public. Normal every day people don't have the time to watch Every Frame A Painting, Nerdstalgic, Karl Runquist videos and attend film school in order to "enjoy" a movie.

Rip. Turns out it was a sleep seizure. I’ve had those before, they suck. I unknowlingly had covid in december 2023 and i was getting feelings all week and i was so confused, then had the big seizure when i was at home asleep. Flatmate said he called the ambo but it was hours before they even came to get me (at the hospital was how i found out i had covid). He kept waking me up and it felt like an extremely long nightmare. I went to go try take a pee in the bathroom but the seizure had its own plans. It made me walk into the kitchen (tiled-floor) and i peed, then i went back to bed/sleep. Thankfully they’ve put me on lamotrogine and its wayyyyyy more effective than levetiracetum. I have a slither of a feeling once in a while and some stupid headaches here n there. But havent had one since.

W reaction y'all. Ngl y'all should've watched more of the different stars standalone movies beforehand to get a better sense or their individualality and why this movie was so good cause of that. Other than that can't wait for part 2 💯

My friend had an OJ Simpson portrait tattoed on his calf for years but it got him into a lot of uncomfortable conversations/situations. He eventually got a mask tattooed over it and pretends its wesley from The Princess Bride.
Such a feel good movie, this was my comfort movie for years, had it on nearly every night in bed to help me sleep at one point lol, watched it hundreds of times easily
If you enjoyed this one, I hope you checked the second one, it's a little bit more movie plot instead of real life scenarios like this one, but it's great.
