Only saw one of these in my life up close and personnal, that was at the Nebraska state fair in the early 1980's! Had no idea that only so many where built. A sharp machine for the time frame in which it was built. Way ahead of its time!
My neighbor has one of these. He keeps it parked inside and the only time it comes out is for a few weeks around July 4th. He has a very large collection of MM tractors, some fully restored and some not, I'd guess around twenty tractors - but his UDLX is definitely the centerpiece of his collection. I knew they were rare, but I had no idea that they were this valuable.
I was there at auction that day watching this very tractor sell....you can't see it happening on camera, but l felt bad how Dennis treated Gary Olson who was helping take bids on this tractor....Gary should have walked off..but he is to much of a gentleman...
I can see why they didnt sell many. Terrible visibility from that cab, no way to use a PTO, serviceability issues caused by all the body tin etc. Interesting collectable, but kinda useless as a farm tractor.

A few years ago I seen 5 in one place at the same time, Albany, MN, Pioneer Days. There was also a beautifully restored Minneapolis Moline NTX.

Friend of my Dads had UDLX no 1 in his shed on a dairy farm near Castalia IA many yrs ago.
Pretty sure Dennis Solvie, near Morris MN, has it now.
