Nunca he probado el arroz persa pero se ve tan delicioso, me encanta el sabor que le da el azafrán a la comida, así que este platillo debe estar riquísimo, perfecto y ademas te quedo bello, bonita noche :))
Mari, thank you for another idea for serving rice...we tried your Spanish Chicken & Rice meal this weekend, and enjoyed it...thank you for this new suggestion.
So interesting Mari! I always like the "crusty" parts of rice :) Do you rinse the rice before you start cooking it? Thanks so much for sharing and have a very blessed day! ---Stacy 😍❤
Hi stacy, you can wash the rice before if you like; it would not change anything. I usually don't do it because my rice is organic and comes really clean, so I really don't see the need To wash it before. But there are some brands, that the rice is not so cleaned, so it would be a good idea To clean it before.
Salom, thank you, this is very exciting recipe! I once ate Tahdik rice that had crispy caramelized onions in the crust - can you tell me how can I incorporate onions in this technique?
Hello, In the Middle East they sell crispy onions which they will add to the bottom of the pot when making the Tahdig, But if you cannot find them where you live, then slice very thinly the onins and caramelize them on your pot without Burning them, and then add to the bottom of the pot with the rest of the ingredients that I show in this video to make The Tahdig. This should be enough to make a Tahdig with the caramelized onions.
Yes you can but make sure to follow the directions on how to make the Tahdig step by step, and add some caramelized onions, but make sure you dont overdue it with the onions.
A) What BRAND of Pot did you use? B) What TYPE of Pot did you use (Regular or Non-Stick)? and most important, what SIZE pot did you use to make this exact rice??? It wasn't stated in your video and I think you have the best Persian Rice Tahdig recipe on RUclips. This specific information would be very helpful in trying to re-create your rice EXACTLY the way you have made it. Thank you for the lovely presentation ✌👍👍
Hi Charlie Brown, The brand of the pot am using to make the rice is: Quantinox (TM) It's a non-stick pot>> And I have an induction stove and this pot is induction safe. The pot works well on>> Gas- Electric- Oven & induction. The size of the pot is>> 25 centimeters round & 11 centimeters deep. Important!!! You need to use the real basmati rice. I hope this helps you & thanks for watching the video 😊❤️
The saffron powder that am using is real Persian Saffron, which I grind on a mortar and pestle. You can also use the strands, but soak them in warm water before.
I like to cook my rice till i get a crispy bottom makes for a great texture but i never knew this was a real dish....what do you eat with it? Meat and veg i mean
Whatever they put at the bottom of the pot is something that is easy to become crispy. Like the rice, the potatoes, and the pita bread. Now the onions the ones they use, they are special ones, they come already dehydrated and super crispy in the bag. They use this type of onions on top of the rice, and I have seen some people add the onions with the crispy rice at the bottom. Now the procedure has to be done exactly as I have made the crispy rice at the bottom for it to actually look like a cake, but the onions cannot be regular fresh onions, they need to be the dried and crispy ones.
Can you make this with brown basmati rice? If you cook the brown rice completely, wouldn't it come out fine? I like the fact that you didn't use egg as a binder. Some people put too many ingredients in the in their tahdig.
Yes you have to wash the rice before, and soak for about 1 hour. Well it's a full pot of rice, and the serving size will depend on how much the people who you are feeding Regularly eat, some people love rice and serve themselves a mountain on a plate, and some like to eat Much less. But I can say you can feed more or less 4 to 5 people who eat normal portions.
Best recipe ever! It worked perfectly! My tahdig was perfect, golden and crispy! Best rice I ever made!!! Thank you so much!

I’m making it right now! So excited for how it’s going to turn out! Oh and quick question can I use saffron instead of saffron powder?
The saffron powder that am using is real Persian Saffron, which I grind on a mortar and pestle.
You can also use the strands, but soak them in warm water before.
I.CreateMySpace Mari-McGuire Thanks so much!
I like to cook my rice till i get a crispy bottom makes for a great texture but i never knew this was a real dish....what do you eat with it? Meat and veg i mean

Hello, thanks for the video!
One question - I once had the most delicious persian rice with omcaramelized onions in the crust, is that a common thing?
People usually add potatoes, pitta bread or caramelized onions, in general it's a matter of taste, they usually get creative.
@@ICreateMySpaceMariMcGuire I saw there are recipes here with potatoes - will it work if I just replace these with chopes onions?
Whatever they put at the bottom of the pot is something that
is easy to become crispy. Like the rice, the potatoes, and the pita bread. Now the onions the ones they use, they are special ones, they come already dehydrated and super crispy in the bag.
