Round Three is probably my favorite skate movie of all time. It's so good. Not just the Mullen - Song bit, but from start to finish. So much creativity and good vibes. Haslam especially was incredible.
I always loved how in the Almost round 3 video DVD, Rodney and Daewon's parts would each alternate to last part. You could watch once and Rodney would have last part and "win" and the next time Daewon would have last part
Daewon has always been in inspiration for other skaters. Dude is so humble and just amazing at what he does. Those videos used to hype me up so much when I was a kid and we’d all just run outside and try to do what we saw. I still go back and watch the Deca videos!
I constantly tell people that I love skating the way they love football and other sports. I tried when I was younger but skating just never clicked for me physically. I never stopped loving it though. in fact the older I get, the more I fall in love with the history and richness of the world of skating. Nowadays there are so many skaters I liken it to music. Back in the day everyone knew every band basically. But over time the genres just keep coming and you end up picking a few lanes by default. So, I have flavors of skaters I like, in this world with Instagram and too much content. And personally I lean towards those who like to be themselves inside and outside of skating and also truly love skating with a visible passion. Rodney, Daewon, Andy Anderson, Jason Park...
My friend said he skated with Daewon in cali when he went back home for summer break. He was the only kid that was really really into skating…we had no park no nothing. Kids would joke on him about lying and that he never met him till his mom finally developed the pictures. Daewon came back to this park for 3 days until he landed the heelflip consistently. What a dude!
i cant talk about it enough what this man meant to K kids growing up in america .. all asian kids. especially us that didnt fit the dr, lawyer piano player, good at math and school mold … he was/is a pillar
Daewon: "I'm no different from anyone else" Yeah, that's exactly what a skateboarding cyborg from the future [sent back in time to push the levels of skateboarding as to have a real challenge] would say! xD Sincerely, Thank you for all you have done and continue to do Daewon - you absolute legend! Cariad fawr o Gymru - Much love from Cymru [Wales] x
I don't skate, it just wasn't something I was ever really immersed in growing up in rural Minnesota, but it's always fascinated me to watch...and after having visited California for the first time last October, I finally understood how Cali became a hotbed for so many different lifestyles with the ocean and the weather being right there...had I grown up around that, life would have no doubt been so much different...
I just gotta say those Jeron decks are so sick. I loved the Jason Lee hawk graphic back in the day as well. It would be sick to have a hawk, a Lee and a Jeron all lined up on the wall
Rodney Mullens filmed in a different spot on his classic footage of skating and doing it at the right time to combining the clip into a skateboarding movie.
I owned that movie, Rodney vs Daewon round 2. To me Rodney won, it was close. Great movie. I started skateboarding when I was 10, I stopped in high school, I was 18. It was fun but it can’t last forever. Golf is so much more fun. Tennis too.
I always have held the notion that depending on where you are at in your skateboard life development changes your answer , Someone who just started is more likely to say Rodney because come on?!? Look at those unheard/unseen tricks?! But a 5 year + skateboarder might lean towards Daewon.... I mean just look at his STYLE?!? How is he making THOSE type of tricks look good?!
Who won? Whoever took the last shot. It's like two basketball teams, one is down by one and they score to be up by one, then the other team scores and they're up by one, and on and on, endlessly.
Rodney Mullen Or Daewon Song, Who Won?
You know damn well who won !
William Patrick won round 3 lol
The fans.
Yes
It was a tie.
We won.
ayyyyyyy
100%
That’s the correct answer!
That shit was a TIE
Daewon seems soo authentically humble, some people say they are...but he shows he is. Stand up dude forreal💯
I'm way more humble! It's not that hard to be humble...
Damn I feel old, seems like yesterday watching this on vhs with the boys, but lucky to have witnessed so much in skating.
Please one with Rodney, we need it
I have the Mandela effect thinking Rodney has been on. Can’t believe he hasn’t. It has to happen!
He doesn't seem like the type.
@@sheldonwright8770 he was on Tony’s which seems very similar
@@ScrubDusters thanks
More up to rodney than it is up to them I'm sure he's their dream guest

Even Sheckler put it down. It pushed the envelope. All filmed well and all great music too. Fully Flared,l and round 3 the best fasho
Daewon is the definition of down to earth hero.
I loved the Rodney vs Daewon video. Watched that and the Mouse video soooo much
What a chill dude
Round 3 was such a great video
Rodney Vs. Dar Won 2 was the first skate tape I ever watched and nothing has compared to it since
I always loved how in the Almost round 3 video DVD, Rodney and Daewon's parts would each alternate to last part. You could watch once and Rodney would have last part and "win" and the next time Daewon would have last part
I forgot about that! The bonus bootleg DVD with the audience reactions was cool too

Daewon has always been my favorite skater. Ever since RM vs DS 1 came out watching it in the back of the skate shop

Rad skater and great dude. One of the ultimate ambassadors of the sport

As a kid I've seen these movies like a thousand times. Still once in a while, I'm watching this and great memories come back.
The fact that Rodney was competitive is amazing... Two different generations
0:52 AYOOOO 🤣🤣😂
Man Daewon seems so humble
skateboarding won. Iconic videos!
I wore the tape on the vhs out playing mullen vs song so much with all my buddies before almost every time we went out skating
i cant talk about it enough what this man meant to K kids growing up in america .. all asian kids.
especially us that didnt fit the dr, lawyer piano player, good at math and school mold … he was/is a pillar
Love Decca second to none part with daewon

Not played out! I bought all three rounds on release. Please do ROUND 4!!!!!!!!!
that would be crazy but i think they re too old for this now
@@chrl.pl45daewon still skating like crazy lol

What a humble dude, Daewon! Dude is a legend and I love hearing him discuss his craft! Rodney, you the GOAT though, imo.
Much love from Morocco 🇲🇦
I'd watch a million Rodney vs Daewon videos! Same with Cheese & Crackers!
Round 1 is probably my most watched video of all time. I think i watched it 4 times in a row once. (it's only 20 minutes)
Skateboarding won.
"Day One", The Story of Daewon Song. Write that book dawg🎉🎉🎉
@2:23 backside kf grind 180 out is so fucking hard.
Round 2 is Rodney!!! Epic
we need final round
The only person who ever beat Rodney Mullen is Rodney Mullen. Daewon tied him though.
Daewon, comes off as a real humble guy. It definitely doesn't come off as fake.
Dumbdata got the stats

We won for having witnessed such greatness
I think daewon wants a refill he keeps hinting it
pretty sure Daewon doesn't need anyone getting his back
People tend to forget rodney was daewons mentor
Daewon is the GOAT
Rodney won. Rodney invented everything so he won skateboarding.
❤️❤️❤️
Real should have given him a section in Since Daewon.
Always liked Daewon's parts the best still when I see someone doing flip in flip out manual stuff I think Daewon Song.

Rodney won
Mullen won!
Well, I'm glad that got settled.
Plain and simple daewon won overall. And he definitrly won the first two rounds
But round three, Rodney definitely won.
Hmm. Cant remember the clip of Mike Mo breakin his wrist
I filmed the trick that “banked.” Took him less than 10 tries.
We could say Daewon won,
But without Rodney at all Daewon doesn't exist.
True
Rad
Who won? Whoever took the last shot. It's like two basketball teams, one is down by one and they score to be up by one, then the other team scores and they're up by one, and on and on, endlessly.
dae both won
It always seemed like it wasn't daewon vs mullen,... it was them against the world...
Or as Tom Segura says who Wahn
Dae won 🤷🏿♂️
Clubbed to Death.
The skateboarding community won.
Society won
It's versus not verse.
Daewon won all of it.
But I thought Dae Won
