I must thank you, Sven. You teach and explain better than anyone I have come across. I have been playing guitar for 53 years, but I am musically ignorant, and have never had a lesson or any formal training or teaching. So this makes it fine if I am jamming with people playing rock/blues/country, etc., but I am totally lost and intimidated by jazz and music with jazz forms and patterns. I have reached an age(63) and a level of major health issues that now I only play in my church once a week, and play mostly modern contemporary Christian music. But the point is, you really inspire me to do something I haven't done is decades: LEARN. Thank you so very much, my brother.
Hi, that' s nice to hear! we are all students for a lifetime. each new style is always a new start and makes us feel like beginners. that's the fun part ;) Greetings from Cologne, Germany!
I come back to this tut often Sven. It's truly very very good 👌🏻👍🏻😘🎄✨🎅🏼 Why not upload a couple of GypsyJazz christmas songs?! I know you can do the arrangement! Everyone, like this tut and ask Sven to do a GypsyJazz Christmas Survival Kit Song Collection!
Exquisite chord work. You're an excellent teacher Sven--but too advanced for this old feller. Trying to learn your arrange for this Christmas 2021.Warmest wishes for the holiday season
Thank you! It is a beautiful arrangement and, your lesson is comprehensive and well done. It will take more practice but, I will be able to play it in a couple of weeks! Probably not as well as you but I will be able to play it. Your Eastman guitar sounds great! Thank you, Thank you!
It's Christmas time again soon. I need a refresher of this great arrangement and musical ideas you present. This is the best sounding arrangement for this song that I have ever heard. So warm and beautiful. Thanks Sven. Merry Christmas again to you and your family. ♥️
Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on your troubles will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas Make the Yuletide gay From now on your troubles will be miles away Here we are as in olden days Happy golden days of yore Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more Through the years we all will be together If the fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest place So have yourself a merry little Christmas Have yourself a merry little Christmas So have yourself a merry little Christmas
Thanks so much for this! I'll challenge my campfire guitar skills this year and try this for Christmas. I especially like how you make the jazz chords seem less intimidating because that's something that I've noticed when I've tried to google chords for songs from these old musicals that went on to become jazz standards - often the melodies will be pretty simple but the chords will just look crazy to me, so that I'll feel like I can't possible play them. But for a few of them I actually figured out a way to play them by ear and, surprise, you really can play them with simple chords like C, G7, etc. At least for just singing/humming a tune that's pretty nice. You've inspired me to try my hand at the jazz chords though! They just sound so good.
hi Sven. I write to you from Russia. thank you for your work, you post videos very often, I do not even have time to watch everything, but I really want to. we have here the kind of music you listen to little, and therefore the lessons are not much. I do not play gipsy swing, but almost all the knowledge I take from this music, from you. Thanks very much. Very, very beautiful. after your lessons, other music is easy to play, as if the hands themselves zayut what to do, and most importantly add these wonderful sounds in harmony and it turns out very beautiful. thanks
@@SvenJungbeck thanks Sven. I will also try to develop with your help. Big greetings to your great city, where Jacques Offenbach, Max Bruch was born and Ludwig van Beethoven gave his first concert.Big greetings to Germany. Thanks again for your lessons. Inspiration and creative victories. Alex from Russia
Thanks for sharing this Sven, great lesson. I really like the way you teach, especially the way you name all the chord tones. It helps me learn the inversions. I'm also falling in love with your guitar. I found it at Musicians Friend for $800 US! Starting to save my side job money for one in the new year. Looking forward to many more lessons in 2018! I wish you an early Merry Christmas!
Whaddya know! T'is the season after all 🎄😊🤪 I'll be brief. This is still, by far, my favorite arrangement (that I have yet to master..) of HYAMLC. But I'm on it. Playing you back on 50% speed making you sound like me after 3 gallons of GlüeWIne 🥳. In many ways it's fantastic that you play the goddamn song differently on every verse, teaches me a lot! But it's too much when just trying to get through the mtf... 🤕. But not to worry! I am sort of transcribing your chords, skipping through your tut', chord by chord I think.. But here it comes: the big nag..( you indulged me the first time 😊, so I'm back for more!) Could you perhaps.. P.L.E.A.S.E play the whole tune, from beginning to end, singing or just humming along. No pressure, but you sing good! Please Sven, pretty please, with sugar on top!! Do this in the Christmas spirit for all us forsaken souls with the attention span and ability of a single pine needle dropping from a dry old Christmas tree. Pls just play the damn thing through once. From the top. To the bitter end. Straight, no chaser. No embellishments. 😘Pleeeease! Oh, and Sven, you and I both know that for this Christmas you know that you want to do a Gypsy rendition/arrangement of the One. The Only. Christmas song to take to a deserted island if you could only take one. I can feel you want to. You feel it too. And I'm sure that nobody on your channel would send you nothing but Christmas spirit and love if you did. The one. The only. Nat. (ruclips.net/video/hwacxSnc4tI/видео.html) (Don't know if links are ok in the comment field, if not: Nat King Cole " The Christmas Song (1961). To die for.
do you have a facebook account? can you send me all guitar chords that you use so that i can more easily learn it,your arrangement is the one that im looking for a very long time
you go through it soooo fast i wish you could slow down as well as sing the lyrics along with the chords so we have some idea of where you are in the song
I didn't delete anything, I think 🤷🏻♂️ I haven't tab them out, yet. So right now I can't do that for free. If you like to donate something, I could write it down for you!
That was so beautiful I actually teared up. Thanks 🙏 Sven.
I subbed. That was heavenly. Nice gypsy jazz guitar.

Love this! Homework for the next 2 weeks - Hopefully the family will receive a nice little song instead of a Xmas text message this year :)

What a wonderful set of chords. Thank you very much. It was brilliant
