Both you and Arya have shown sen1+2 used for block pressure in your Reina guides (20:38 in this video), but as far as I can tell, sen1+2 is always, ALWAYS unsafe on block. The frame data says you're -6, but that doesn't account for the fact that you're forced into Heaven's Wrath, and you can't block in HW. A jab string will stuff every HW option, including hw1 and hw4 (which are armored and high crush respectively, but they do not come out in time). You do not even have time to CD out of HW and block. Even if she's in heat, a crouch jab will not trigger the parry because the game considers it a low, and just like a jab it'll crush every option. As another commenter notes, the HW parry in heat also doesn't work on any moves that leave the ground, so ws4,4d is completely punishable as well. There might be tons of more creative or character-specific ways of beating most of this HW pressure. I think most of it is not real.

Wait you can cancel Heaven's Wrath CH1 into Sentai 1+2? This means Heaven's Wrath CH1 is a launcher against Jack because she can pick up him after Sentai 1+2 with 1. (Or maybe I remember incorrectly and it's Kuma, not Jack)
Reina is that one character that its so hard to play and understand but onc you go in the rabbithole, you just see yourself learning more and more with her kit
I dont have fast reflexes and i suck at Electrics. But i just hit Vanquisher and i am having a Blast with Reina and finally getting some People that dont spam you or themself to Death.
I kinda disagree with ff2 application. You can mixup your options be going for sentai 2 or sentai 4 or you could even just do an empty roll to see how they react. Even in cases where the opponent nows to duck sentai 3 it still works great to counter act retaliation or to maintain pressure.
There's so much about Reina ff2 or 1,1,2 to sentai 1+2 is always fun, you go directly into HW and there's so much game there She can also condinionate a lot with the stances, just do sentai throw twice and you have people ducking for a sentai 2 or a sentai 1+2 then HW throw, which you can also conditionate, she's a monster when you learn how to connect everything, but the lack of lows makes it really tough
I feel bad because I use hellsweep so much and sidestep 4 and i feel like im spamming but those are our obly 2 options lol I'm so glad i picked her up because its so satisfying to do 1,1,2 into sentai snd 1+2 on hit and then 4,2,2,1+2
I think her lows are the most affective if you don't use them too often. Use highs, like EWGF and throws to force people to duck instead. Use hellsweep more at the wall or during heat, if you use SS4 a lot, try faking the low doing sidestep into F4 or something.
She is so busted if you are good at confirming hits what most Street Fighter players are used to. Therefore I played Heihachi in T7 & he was already strong. Reina adjusts his weak spots with fluid stances & modern tools containing gimmicks
What if she's really Kazuya's synthesized "daughter" that Heihachi created from genetic material he got from Kaz to try and distill the devil gene from her? OR, what if Hei goes full chaotic good and created her as a test subject to see if the devil gene can be removed from somebody without killing them?
I think she has a really strong wallcombo in cd13 into guaranteed cd3 , I don’t know if it is fully guaranteed because it whiffs on some situations. It’s like Jack b12 megaton upper damage if it hits tho
i think reina is pretty straightforward aside from electrics. sure she has an abundance of potential options - which you can, but dont have to use to see results. amount of options doesnt equal difficulty, if you can come by without using them. for me reina is very comparable to nina (plenty of easy stuff, but access to complex stuff too, their gameplan also feels somewhat similar). i still think chars like yoshi, raven, zafina etc are way harder to play/get used to, just due to how unorthodox/different their gameplay is.
It depends on how well you want to do. The characters you just named off have 10× better lows than reina which is very huge. Which to me makes them easier to play with. Weak lows make your gameplan harder.
i guess its important to refer to the type of difficulty. im specifically refering to the difficulty of actually playing/learning the character. if you refer to a character being difficult to be successful with at a very high level, due to whatever weakness they might have, thats a completly different story of course. reina is comparativly easy to just pick up and do stuff. if a person thats new to fighting games starts out with tekken 8 and picks reina im quite convinced they gonna have a way easier time using reina, than any of the chars i mentioned, just due to how unique their gameplay is. as example zafina on paper is mechanically super easy, she is just very weird to get used to playing bcuz she locks herself into stances so much.
call BS on her being the hardest new comer to play. Been smashing up the ranks and only using a few very effective tools for the most part. Anakin had a good video on it. As for the lows. Yet to have a single person punish db 22 its actually pretty good and annoys them enough to make axe kick start landing. A bit like the old man in that electric is just a nice to have. Cool character though although I have found parry from heavens wrath not work when it's supposed too alot of the time and Dont like The preset options, some nice unique costumes and hair for her in customise though. F n 3 is currently underated
I like that she’s not like leroy or fahk, who were strong af and braindead easy to play. She’s fairly complex and your hands get tied up with all the stance stuff and inputs at first when picking her up. She’s definitely a strong character and I’d expect some Nerfs on the next big balance patch, but characters like Leroy/Fahk were WAY stronger imo and absolutely zero execution needed. I only wish the ff3 launched while ff2 hit to sentai 3 is not guaranteed, and maybe nerf the frame and range on the ff2, and i would take a few other nerfs if FF3 launched on hit, also i honestly prefer the automatic parry in heaven’s wrath in heat to be removed
I've been playing her for a little bit and want to main her. This is my first Tekken game ever. However, you say she's a very difficult character. Does that matter for beginners, or is she mainly difficult to master?
I'm pretty sure you can transition into heaven's wrath from WS 4, 4 by holding down after regardless of heat, or am I wrong? Edit: Nevermind he meant that the parry is only accessible in heat.
As a beginner who have doesn't have an offensive playstyle, is usually dependent on lows, and has shit reactions I'm starting to wonder if I should have picked someone else to main... but I really like her though
if you really like her, you can play more defensively, she has good punish and movement options. you dont have to play her like everybody else. and you dont have to play optimally she has a hundred moves, but if you really want a character that has better lows than her down back 2 and down back 4, you might want to think about learning another character because she doesnt have great ones. you can split main two character for a bit if you want to explore another character or you can play more than one character regulalry for as long as you want to play tekken
Glad everyone is saying she is hard, i learned her day one took me 3 days to learn the entire movelist off by heart including all moves than can cancel into stance or crouch. Now i feel extremely confident with her. So now im just playing reina with all her tools in the bag but im getting better at fundamentals now
It kinda sucks that she's so hard to pick up. I really like the design but having a character with so many stances between strings and all stuff Mishima do normally (electrics, wavedash etc.) is just too overwhelming. Probably my fault not being good enough but the character is just too hard for average skill player to play. For Tekken addicts it's probably a good thing though.
you dont have to learn everything at once. a few strings, an option or two out of stances (sentai and heaven's wrath both have an unbreakable grab for easy moves), a punish or two, and a poke. that's like a dozen moves that will get you through playing a game until you're comfortable to add more peices to your arsenal. nobody is going to care that you're not playing optimally so if you like her character, ignore a lot of her moves to start, and then start adding is ny advice at least

I beat my friend in a tournament with the armor, parry twice in a row in the final round. Needless to say he was pissed lol
TheMainMan making guides on tekken again, life is good 👍🏾 ❤
If anyone is looking for a good combo that does 99 damage without heat and can wall to wall on Azucena sized staged and below. Electric > ff2f >3 (towards the end of sentai spin) > df1,1 > f2,3f > (wait for sentai spin to end) df,1 hold forward > 1+2 > 3,4 > dash into d4,1. Execution isnt to complex either.
Now I need a detailed guide for Jin
Thank you so much for this, it's a gold mine for a Reina main !
Another good option with Heaven's wrath CH 1 is press to forward to Sentai 1+2 heaven's wrath 2 garanti 60+ damage
CD3 is very good against steve (other char with strong highs), basically this move makes him respect you and dont throw brainlessly his b1
Unless I’m missing something here but her hellsweep doesn’t stagger for me. Even when I block it her leg passes straight through my block.
It’s still launch punishable I think and it’s also the worst reward out of the Mishima style hellsweeps
@@pranavjain8774 hellsweep 2 on hit is -1. My jaw dropped when I saw it.
@@janstraka8674 Hold down to go into HW and then she's plus.
Well good thing I finished story mode yesterday before watching this
She has an 11 frame punish option as well. Not sure how useful it is since the range is tiny. Slide input 2-1.
think about that df2 again. if you want to whiff punish but drop the electric, you will still get the launch no matter what.
I hope they make her buff like her dad In future games
does reina parry all heighs and mids when she is in her second stance?
The hardest thing about this character will be not getting killed because u can't stop spamming that electrical wave dash 😂
Reina is that one character that its so hard to play and understand but onc you go in the rabbithole, you just see yourself learning more and more with her kit
"so hard to play and understand" Ok bud
@@YokaiStevebruh stop yapping I have seen u hating on her everywhere cry harder bruh 😹🫵
I dont have fast reflexes and i suck at Electrics.
But i just hit Vanquisher and i am having a Blast with Reina and finally getting some People that dont spam you or themself to Death.
Hit confirming will be crucial for her I’ll need to hit the lab
I kinda disagree with ff2 application. You can mixup your options be going for sentai 2 or sentai 4 or you could even just do an empty roll to see how they react. Even in cases where the opponent nows to duck sentai 3 it still works great to counter act retaliation or to maintain pressure.
There's so much about Reina
ff2 or 1,1,2 to sentai 1+2 is always fun, you go directly into HW and there's so much game there
She can also condinionate a lot with the stances, just do sentai throw twice and you have people ducking for a sentai 2 or a sentai 1+2 then HW throw, which you can also conditionate, she's a monster when you learn how to connect everything, but the lack of lows makes it really tough
my thought exactly. didnt lose yet to a single reina by just not ducking at all :> she has no low threats.
Back 3 stance into 4 catches so many people on lower ranks on start of round as well.
Yea I’m almost in orange and what I do is b3 d3 into sentai s3. I call it the him him shuffle
I still have hope for Heihachi DLC outcome
I like that she’s not like leroy or fahk, who were strong af and braindead easy to play. She’s fairly complex and your hands get tied up with all the stance stuff and inputs at first when picking her up. She’s definitely a strong character and I’d expect some
Nerfs on the next big balance patch, but characters like Leroy/Fahk were WAY stronger imo and absolutely zero execution needed.
A detailed look at Reina, you say? Iam quite....intrigued 😏😏
Literally was just practicing her n opened my app to this 😂
Appreciate the video. This will help to get better. Thanks.
Please make a detailed devil Jin guide! 🙏
Great guide man!
you missed 1+4 high crush to electric... could kill hwoarangs and other strings that you know when to crush high
Remember from heavens wrath you can cancel into crouch dash.... 👀👀👀
ws+3+4 also gives you +14 not counter hit and do a guaranteed ff+2 follow to sentai 3. electric if possible but it's really hard
I main Reina as a newcomer. The issue is her most moves prove unsafe.
need that azucena guide badly
What I needed! Thanks!
We need Jun guide! 😅
anyone else notice we get a "dorya" from reina on the 2 of SEN1,2? :)
I've been playing her for a little bit and want to main her. This is my first Tekken game ever. However, you say she's a very difficult character. Does that matter for beginners, or is she mainly difficult to master?
Actually sentai 1+2 is not safe when not in heat, yes it's -6, but you cant block in this stance and cant cd cancel it in time
I'm pretty sure you can transition into heaven's wrath from WS 4, 4 by holding down after regardless of heat, or am I wrong?
Edit: Nevermind he meant that the parry is only accessible in heat.
tsunami - > heavens wrath gets launched by king either way
As a beginner who have doesn't have an offensive playstyle, is usually dependent on lows, and has shit reactions I'm starting to wonder if I should have picked someone else to main... but I really like her though
if you really like her, you can play more defensively, she has good punish and movement options. you dont have to play her like everybody else. and you dont have to play optimally she has a hundred moves, but if you really want a character that has better lows than her down back 2 and down back 4, you might want to think about learning another character because she doesnt have great ones. you can split main two character for a bit if you want to explore another character or you can play more than one character regulalry for as long as you want to play tekken
I don’t know why all the attention is on reina.. people need to worry about jun she’s the real problem
Glad everyone is saying she is hard, i learned her day one took me 3 days to learn the entire movelist off by heart including all moves than can cancel into stance or crouch. Now i feel extremely confident with her. So now im just playing reina with all her tools in the bag but im getting better at fundamentals now
That's great to hear.
