I am an IHM Mumbai graduate, with a specialization in food production, we made Linsensuppe 🇩🇪 in college 7 years back, making it again today. Love from India 🇮🇳
Good going Nikhilesh. Glad to see so many Indian faces on mainstream german media channel like Dhruv Rathee with dw travel and now you. And also how can we forget Bharat Chaudhary, who started all this with his videos. Best of luck
As a Canadian with German family, I would like to make a recommendation. Please have Felicitas as Germanys ambassador to Canada 🇨🇦. The food and discussions are great on every program. But her pleasant manners, gentle humor and intelligence make her a person who will hold your attention.
What a lot of Germans do, which I really like to put more vinegar and quite among of sugar to the soup directly before I eat it. I love the mixture of sweet and sour in this dish
I know him. He was a chef and has experience in countries like Spain, UAE, Switzerland, and India. Then he pursued MBA Marketing at IUBH and now runs a successful consultancy at Berlin.
That was a "come here, my fried, we should join up. All that tedious shooting one another Is so unnecessary. Just arrange the parades and we shall act like civilized gentlemen."
This recipe turned out awesome. I didn’t have marjoram/oregano or potatoes but made the rest as listed and used turkey knacks from a local German sausage vendor. It was delicious and great the next day as well. Easy to make as well!
It's ok to salt the lentils early. initially the lentils firm up for the first 5min, but as.the salt takes contol the lentils begin to soften and let more salt in. This process accelerates rapidly and you end up with.well seasoned lentils quickly Works with.beans too, though I shall be accused of heresy.
What is the sausage used in the soup? I supposed some kind of smoked sausage would work the best with the bacon. If I am going to make this recipe here in the US, I probably will use keilbasa and cut them into 1 cm slices. A complete sausage floating in the soup seems unusual, I guess that is why this is the German style. I also think if the amount of liquid is reduced and the lentil are not soaked so long, this can be a good lentil stew with bacon and sausage.
The biggest food difference between Germany and India is the meat consumption. Higher number of vegetarians in India. Problem is the world's consumption of animal products is increasing and it's not sustainable. Plus animal welfare is a joke. Why not create German and Indian fusion but plant based. That'll be creative.
How do you like lentil soup? You can find the recipe in the video description. 🙂
It is really nice to see something German represented that isn't Haxen, Döner, Schnitzel or Currywurst.

German-Indian fusion sounds super interesting. What would be your first proposed dish? 😊🇩🇪🇮🇳
