  • I moved recently and thought I would do a quick walkthrough of the new setup. Its still a work in progress but it'll take shape with time.

      Thanks Mike! I was surprised that I really didn't lose many trees over the winter. A couple of willows is about it.

    Nice truck, using the shelf in the back to hold the plants was brilliant. I can only imagine what people might have thought riding behind you "That guy sure does love trees." "That man is a genius." 😆

      Thank you! I'm not sure if I'd say I'm a genius but I got lucky on this one that it fit okay lol.

    Looking good Mike. I love how Amur maples just pop up in yards in Idaho and you can have a pretty cool little yamadori in a few years with hitting it with the weed eater every once in a while!

      Thank you! And yeah that is pretty nice, those in Siberian elms. The Siberian elms grow everywhere!

    I think you'll hit the 10000 subscriber milestone pretty soon. The overall views on this channel are above 1000000, I like the growth 😊

      Thank you! And yeah I can't believe I'm almost at 10k. If you would have told me that a few years ago I would've been floored!

    Wow, isn't this the 3rd move for you? I can't imagine packing up all our stuff...

    • @BonsaiBoise
      @BonsaiBoise  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes! I actually had no plans to move but the person I was renting the house from decided to sell. Kind of a bummer but I can't blame them. Moving when you have a bunch of trees is no joke.

    Moving is fun but also taxing lol. Place looks good and enjoy the update tour.
    Siberian elm looks little like Chinese elm but bigger? You have both, if so it would be nice see the comparison?

    • @BonsaiBoise
      @BonsaiBoise  4 месяца назад

      I'm not sure if I have any Chinese elms. I have tons of the siberian elms, and 1 zelkova. Oh and I have that Jacqueline Hillier elm, (whatever that is), but no Chinese elms. I actually never see them for sale anywhere believe it or not!

    Hello Mr Boise. I have a quick question. Can small diameter ficus benja-etc be rooted from cuttings? I want to prune it down but the stems are matchstick sized. Thank you, I enjoy your videos and fund the information helpful

    • @BonsaiBoise
      @BonsaiBoise  Месяц назад +1

      Hi there, thank you! And to answer your question, yes they can. I've rooted them from as small as a needle and as thick as 1.5 inches. I've found the best way to do it is to put them in a cup of water, preferably one that's not glass, (roots will sprout easier if not in direct light), and kept in a well lit, bright room, but not in direct sunlight. Give it a month or two and bam! It's not an exact science but I'm about 80% successful with that method.

    I live in Boise. Where do you usually buy your trees?

    • @BonsaiBoise
      @BonsaiBoise  3 месяца назад

      All over the place. Walmart, Lowe's, Northwest organic nursery, far west landscape, Edwards greenhouse, Franz witte.
