I like that you put this out. I'm a guy who has often felt like I didn't fit so well but not in the way you, or most people say that. I was a weird combo, I was athletic and lettered in every sport the school, I was consider the best athlete at the school in baseball, football and basketball. I made a living doing it for quite a while. So I always had people around me but we never had the same interests. I love literature and history. I have never played a table top game but I have always love the lore, world building and everything that goes into it. The more philosophical "team building" I just never was able to spend any significant time with anyone who shared my interests. I always thought of myself as a "nerd" despite clearly fitting a different mold. Back then if I told you I was a young Republican you wouldn't have blinked but it's not me. I thought too much cared too much and would often come in to direct conflict (sometimes physical) with my teammates when they showed hypocrisy, hate or cruelty towards others. The problem is exclusion is exclusion and like you I don't want to be where I am not welcome. I abhor willful ignorance no matter who it comes from and wish people would take more time listening to others and understanding because most of the hate form everyone comes from a complete lack of interaction and understanding. That's all to say I would actually love to sit down a play a table top but have never had the opportunity and now have no clue how to get involved. Imagine you had to order everything a specific baseball player needs for a half season of professional baseball and you'd understand how out of my comfort zone I am. It's a different world and group.:)

Side note: all this heat came from the JD Vance post which politics aside the things he’s supported long before running for VP were so monstrous IMHO I personally wouldn’t want them playing my game. I can’t force anyone but I am usually a “we change peoples minds by greeting them with kindness, understanding, and patience.” I would honestly volunteer to run a campaign for prisoners who weren’t murderers or CP issues to help reform and be judgement free. I genuinely am 9/10 times welcoming to everyone because that’s how you make a difference. However that line can be crossed and Vance crosses it. Vance runs past that line like his life depends on it. So I get it, I do. I think you know my content is usually completely against gate keeping but does still call out ass hole behavior and again politics aside? Vance is put into the ass home behavior.
    Hope that makes sense!
