Russell has always been my celebrity crush since I first stumbled across him
I'm binge-watching RHDN and wondering when the polos turn into t-shirts.
Series 4 is when he started wearing t-shirts. It's funny. He started hitting the gym, and you can see it gradually show more and more through the polo shirts. Like a few episodes ago when he says about someone looking like a wonky Popeye, and accidentally shows off how much bigger his arms are getting. But of course, having low self esteem like he does, he doesn't see it. But we do! It's kind of frustrating, actually. I just wanna shake him by the shoulders and say, "Face it! You're a stunningly sexy man! You always have been! Not "geeky" attractive, or "weirdly" attractive! Just genuinely handsome! You always have been!" I kinda think that whole "Weird Crush" thing may have done a little more damage than he let on, 'cause when he hits #1 on the list in 2013, He doesn't even mention it during the show.
...But of course, hearing all that from a gay man like myself probably wouldn't help either. But maybe I'm wrong on that. Maybe he'd take it as a compliment. I know he has gay friends, and I have no doubt that more than one is probably secretly nursing a crush on him. How could they not? And I'm sure more than one of them has told him emphatically during a night at the pub how sexy he is. So, who knows...?
