On June 28, 2024, I cut caffeine, breads, pasta, any sugar in all products, sodas, milk, eggs, all meats, honey and now we’re on August 5, 2024. I officially lost 23 lbs. and I no longer have swollen ankles, belly shrank to almost flat and mine was as big as a woman who is 5 months pregnant - couldn’t even see my feet! I no longer have palpitations of my heart, I can walk for miles now and I no longer struggle going up the stairs, my skin is glowing and I noticed gray hairs I had growing in the front are growing in to my natural color! I’ve been sleeping so well and I barely slept before like 4 hours and now I’m waking up feeling well rested. I notice I can remember things where before I was struggling. I went on this journey 2 months ago and to tell you the truth yesterday was my first day eating chicken and it was delish and I made sure to eat a small portion. I tried a fruit drink and it was so nasty because I could taste the sugar. I have learned so much on how to take care of myself and eating normal portions that I don’t want to go back to how I used to eat. I have decided that I will continue eating healthy. I wish all of you all the best and may your journey towards better health be a blessing! Take care!

Hi Dr Berg. You're advice is awesome. My mom did the omad ketto for alzemer and she could answer all the question questions correctly like our age, hers, the year we are, even dates of our birth, no depression, no doing on herself, no halutinations. When no diet, none of this, and fast. 😊Thankyou
I count myself as a big (no longer!) success story bc of this! Also, working out contributed to my success as well. 😊 Look better and feel great bc of it!
I work out early morning before starting my day. Take a 32oz bottle of water with added electrolyte powder (Dr. Berg brand 🙃). Didn’t eat til around 3/4pm, eat grass fed meats and organic veggies, lots of healthy nuts 😉, made keto fat bombs, and no added carbs, just have carbs from veggies and clean eating. I did not follow everything to a ‘T’. Listened to my body, paid attention to what made me feel good. Never been so healthy or felt better in my life. Have more energy, physical well-being at 50 years young than I did @ 25. It may feel challenging at times to break away from old habits, but the payoff of priceless! I look better, feel better, and my bloodwork is all A1! Once attuned to your body, it will guide you. We’ve been ‘fooled’ and programmed all our lives to think what is GOOD is bad for us! Best of luck on your journey. You CAN make the change! 😊
I’d also like to add, BRAIN HEALTH was impacted in a HUGE way! No more meds. Our symptoms are ‘treated’ with pills. Turns out the only ‘medicine’ I needed was proper nutrition (low carb/sugar). Has seriously changed my life. Since I began my journey almost 18 months ago, I’ve since discovered A LOT of interesting info about brain health and this type of diet. They don’t want us knowing these things bc once we discover what is really true, we move out of the loop, the cycle, of the ‘sick-care’ system! Food IS medicine!! ✨
Dr. Berg, you are the best!! I initially lost 70 lbs doing keto. I gained back 30. I fell off the wagon, okay on my face. I started feeling fat again, stiff and tired. So I am back on Jeto and fasting, but the scale not moving at all helps.
Glad you started back. You got this. Now you need to tell yourself this. Remember the mind and body works together and the words you say or someone says to you can effect how things turn out in your health journey. I would suggest to get a notebook and write down everything you eat. The good, bad and ugly, meaning even if you slip and had a donut at work or something, because when I help people they sometimes forget about that donut here, a bagel there and they add up. It is a helpful way for you to see what is really happening, keep you accountable. I still do this every day for the last 5 years.Yes, it can be a pain sometimes, but it is soo helpful. Good Luck!! 😊
@@memekendall3197 Thank you so much for your kind words. I tell myself you are what you eat, which is true. I will start backlogging my food on my app.
Track with measuring inches if you are loosing inches you are loosing body fat the reason the scale isn't moving is because of water retention and you might have built muscle if you are working out how much of a caloric deficit are you in that's the most important thing
Great advice and it works just as you said. I know because I've gone from 240 to 193 just doing fasting. Now I'm avoiding carbs and sugars and seeing the scale move down again. 😊 important plus to very little carbs and sugar has been my RA pain reduction. Like 75% better😊
@rme1383 Truth be told, we are addicted to sugar. The food industry puts sugar in practically everything we eat, if it's canned, packaged or boxed. Read the labels. I trying hard to eliminate it from my diet.
@@celesteanderson3857 oh since my initial comment I've fallen off the wagon big time. If you ever get past your sugar addiction....don't cheat and if you do....don't do it again because I promise you will fall of the wagon too. Sugar is the root of all evil in food. Well and our g*o*v*

I always wondered why I have so much fatigue. Now I know! My body is running on sugar and not my body fat. Time to switch to keto! It only took to 41 yrs old to learn that. Thank you Dr Berg for all your knowledge you share!
And take a tablespoon of aple cider vinegar with water when you wake up and before you go to bed. And take a magnesium pill before you go to bed. Good tip about the salt btw
Sea salt, Celtic salt and Himalayan salt is very good too. Use them for almost anything to eat with. Those that didn’t catch it, it’s very good for fighting fatigue and surprisingly it helps with burning fat as well
There’s a reason why you are the most followed health professional on RUclips!!! Truly great content 🤩 I always say the same thing myself as a nutritionist, fasting needs to come naturally and eventually you will be able to fast more and more
I've never done intermittent fasting before, but I've been doing it while recovering from medically induced liver injury and it's helped me so much. Thank you. 🙏
All true. I truly am never hungry so do need to eat(not starving myself). I began this Keto Intermittent Fasting journey in 2020 in ernest. Now, I'm more Ketovore. Once I have my main meal, I do not even think about food and the most important, do not eat my emotions. Last summer I fasted 20 to 22 hours a day or did OMAD. Btw, I'm almost 72 years old, on no meds.
Muslim's Holy lunar's month the RAMADAN is here. We start doing fasting at the age puberty around 12year or near to up to very old age till we are able to do. And each every single day of the holy month. It is kind of a dry fast 16-18 hours depend on the region. Fast starts almost an hour before down till sunset. It's a compulsory fast everyday in month if we miss you to illness or travel what should count those days and complete these after that month. We kept doing this practice from last 1400 years.
No one cares about your Ramadan And intermittent fasting should be done for more than a month obviously And most of the people they consume too much food between breakfast and fasting (3 meals and too much sweets)
@@plugga4u972correction: we do not break it at random times. There is one global time for us to break the fast. Second, just because some people break their fast with oily food, doesn’t mean everyone does that, and by proxy, doesn’t mean that “our fasting doesn’t make sense”. Your logic is respectfully deniable. Peace 🙏🏼
Thank you Dr.Berg ! This is exactly how I followed your advice and medical expertise. So grateful that you are spreading knowledge and understanding of bodily systems so that we all can learn what is the best way to achieve great health. I eat an organic salad nearly every day. I throw in spring mix, tomatoes, olives, avocado, chicken thighs, and blue cheese. Replacing the croutons with pork rinds brought the carbs down to ZERO.
Saw this food disorder documentary - this Dr was sitting at a table while this lady ate a lunch of her favorite food, buttered cooked noodles. They chatted, she ate away, and every once in a while, he'd ask her "Are you still hungry?" yes, ok keep eating, and she would. This went on for days of this lunch. He ask, she'd keep eating until she was done. Then one day, he blindfolded her, and then handed her her bowl of pasta. They chatted, but this time, the second time he asked her if she was still hungry, she paused, and said No. She looked at her half full bowl in surprise. And the next day, she ate quietly and just stopped on her own.
He was a latecomer! 😮 Influenced perhaps by... the first diet book(let) published 1862. Who is the father of low-carb diet? William Banting (c. December 1796 - 16 March 1878) was a notable English undertaker. Formerly obese, he is also known for being the first to popularise a weight loss diet based on limiting the intake of carbohydrates, especially those of a starchy or sugary nature.
@@zarazen8110 No. It depends on your choice of food, we break our fast differently with dates, milk, vegetable and legume soups, bread, olive oil, Fish, beef or chicken.

Dr Berg. I'm Italian. Pasta and Pizza are fundamental to us and provide much of the joy in a life that is miserable if you let it get away from you. I don't eat them every day however can't go a week without them at least once. No sodas. No dessert. No juice. Peace.
Like you I have pasta & not pizza but bread once a week. I found it makes a big difference if I do homemade pasta with foreign/Italian wheat not US wheat. Also gnocchi which I make from potato starch and wheat seems to spike my blood sugar much less then pasta. I eat my meat and veggies with my pasta too I don’t eat it afterwards. All these things help. We may not be in ketosis for a few days after we do this but rn I’m not willing to completely go off wheat. I’ve tried it and it didn’t work for me. I’m off all the things you listed too. Plus processed foods. Congratulations to you for going off all these things too! 🎉
Great!!! Happy for you. If you fall off the wagon(we all have, on my 5th year) it's okay, dust yourself off, and start again. Don't beat yourself up. Remember you got this. This is a journey/lifestyle. Need help/advice just ask, we are always here. 😊
Bread is gonna be the hardest thing for me to give up! I have a coffee & slice of multiseeded toast before cycling to work at 6 am, six days a wk. Then, a chilli chicken seeded roll in my 15 min lunch break. I'll try ditching the toast this wk & just stick with the coffee.
I do intermittent fasting. I get up around 4:30am for work and I'm honestly not usually hungry until like 1p. It's not always about being hungry or not being hungry for me, it's about cravings & wanting something, even if it's just a soda. Honestly, if I didn't crave sodas, I would have the perfect diet.
@@ivan200804 I appreciate the comment and the cute play on words there, however, I'll pass on the advice. Chiropractors are educated more on nutrition than primary doctors. In addition, it makes no difference to me "that he's only a chiropractor". The fact that he continues to self-educate and continues to learn is why I listen to him. He adds value to so many others by passing on that knowledge and it has already helped me personally. Your advise didn't really help...so please take that with a grain of pink himalayan salt 😊

Tip 1) Essential
Tip 2) Real hunger presents as lightheadedness, if that's the case, EAT. Otherwise, go for a walk or something until mealtime.
Tip 3) Key
You shouldn’t be waiting until you are light headed to eat. Your stomach growling is a safer indicator
How should we consume sea salt to prevent fatigue?
A pinch in a glass of water, daily, is all I do. .@nikkid1429
That’s great! How did you fuel your body for strength training and cardio? I’m incorporating both to my routine now
That's really wonderful. Keep it up!
@@Drberg Thank YOU so very much! I wouldn’t be where I am without all of your wonderful info! 😁
@@Lowcarbkimmy Awesome. 😊
Track with measuring inches if you are loosing inches you are loosing body fat
the reason the scale isn't moving is because of water retention
and you might have built muscle if you are working out
how much of a caloric deficit are you in
that's the most important thing
Great advice and it works just as you said. I know because I've gone from 240 to 193 just doing fasting. Now I'm avoiding carbs and sugars and seeing the scale move down again. 😊 important plus to very little carbs and sugar has been my RA pain reduction. Like 75% better😊
When I skip sugar I feel like I've lost something it's like I am an addict
@@rme1383 I completely get that.
Dr Berg is an icon! Love this guy . Been a fan gor years. No bulshit just great advice that works. Wish you all best . You deserve all the compliments you receive.
I always wondered why I have so much fatigue. Now I know! My body is running on sugar and not my body fat. Time to switch to keto! It only took to 41 yrs old to learn that. Thank you Dr Berg for all your knowledge you share!
I like how he goes on rapidly itemizing the " bread pasta, biscuits, waffles and so on.😂
I love when Dr Berg says pancakes waffles crackers cookies etc 😂😂

So, no more fruit ? 😥
@@lisabot1794 only limited berries
Yes yes Venus :)
And take a tablespoon of aple cider vinegar with water when you wake up and before you go to bed. And take a magnesium pill before you go to bed. Good tip about the salt btw
What about the salt? I didn’t catch the use
@@judithparker5368Yeah, he didn't say what to do with the salt. LoL And what about Pink Himalayan?
Sea salt, Celtic salt and Himalayan salt is very good too. Use them for almost anything to eat with. Those that didn’t catch it, it’s very good for fighting fatigue and surprisingly it helps with burning fat as well
What does salt do

There’s a reason why you are the most followed health professional on RUclips!!! Truly great content 🤩 I always say the same thing myself as a nutritionist, fasting needs to come naturally and eventually you will be able to fast more and more
I've never done intermittent fasting before, but I've been doing it while recovering from medically induced liver injury and it's helped me so much. Thank you. 🙏
That's awesome to hear that intermittent fasting has been beneficial for you during your recovery!
@@Drberg yes, and I've started doing healthy keto the past few days too. Trying to do two woke weeks. 👏
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Wow say that last part 5X fast! Thanks so much 🙏 for this ❤️. Especially the part about scheduling fasting. That's the hardest part for me.
Always happy to share helpful information. Thanks for watching!
Dr. Berg, I have nothing to lose anymore😅
Same here 😂
Since following his videos I feel amazing!!!! I’m sleeping better and my joints don’t hurt anymore!!!❤
You’re not only a doctor but a good rapper also 😂❤
Muslim's Holy lunar's month the RAMADAN is here.
Your fasting doesn’t make sense you break it at random times in the night and you break it with oily foods which is not good
No one cares about your Ramadan
And intermittent fasting should be done for more than a month obviously
And most of the people they consume too much food between breakfast and fasting (3 meals and too much sweets)
@@plugga4u972yes, because I'm sure a billion Muslims around the world all decide to break their fast with oily food 👍
Peace 🙏🏼
Eating a bucket of fried chicken after fasting have no benefits
Dr. Berg is Fire! ❤️🔥😌💪🏻
Glad to be an inspiration.
Using Fasting Drops has been a game changer for me.
The fatigue, especially in day two is less impactful.
What are fasting drops exactly?

I eat an organic salad nearly every day. I throw in spring mix, tomatoes, olives, avocado, chicken thighs, and blue cheese. Replacing the croutons with pork rinds brought the carbs down to ZERO.
I like pork rinds too great on the salad or with guacamole found out pork rinds have a lot of collagen good for the skin.
What a great idea! I’d never thought of putting porcelain rinds in salad. Doing this!!!!
@@saracruze2212 Not to mention that there is no dip that’s too heavy. They never snap in half!
Chicken thighs rubbed in blue cheese sounds like a culinary adventure/crime. 😅
Wow…this is the best advice. I started IF a week ago & only lost 2.8 lbs…now I know what to toss out in my fridge.
Dr.Burg you’re awesome!!
Thank you. Appreciate your message.
Fasting in Winter is so hard. Thank you for ALL the advice on your channel. It has been immensely helpful to me. Happy New Year 2025 Dr Berg
I lost my job,I went 4 days without food, I just got fired from job, I hope that I don't go through that again
1) when you do eat don’t eat crap!!! Don’t drink soda either. Be strong you can do it.
Agreed! Can totally be done. Many more videos on the channel can help with this!
Oh wow, thank you for sharing. I wonder if this will work when I eat chocolate.

Dr. Atkins introduced the zero carbs theory in the early 60s and it works great
He was a latecomer! 😮
Influenced perhaps by... the first diet book(let) published 1862.
Thanks for the tips! 🙏 Is rice of any kind a bad carb or starch? I didn't hear not to eat rice.
Ummm. You really don't know that rice is a card? There's lots he didn't mention LOL

Try RAMADAN (A mandatory month of Muslim fasting). And a voluntary yearly-round Mondays and Thursdays fasting. It helps too.
Why would that help? Most people would over-eat once they break their fast with all the oily, sugary and carb-ridden foods.
@@zarazen8110 No. It depends on your choice of food, we break our fast differently with dates, milk, vegetable and legume soups, bread, olive oil, Fish, beef or chicken.
Many people worldwide do Intermittent Fasting year-round, not just a month
@@bigtomboye Waaw, that is great and recommended too. We have non-mandatory Mondays and Thursdays of year-round fasting too apart from the mandatory month of Ramadan.

Ty for all your help Dr Berg. I can’t thank you enough. I’ve lost 11 lbs in 10 days listening to your advice as well as Dr Livingood. Oh and I just got normal labs for the first time in ten years with kidney disease and fatty liver so ty ty ty God bless you! ♥️
Make sure you get enough protein (i strive for 1.5 to 2 grams per kg bodyweight per day) to not lose muscle while losing weight
But you can only digest so much protein. It is very hard for me to eat, and I just get to 1.5g/kg.
To gain belly fat:
1) Consume typical Morton table Salt
2) Set and stick to strick meal times regardless of whether or not you feel like eating
3) Follow guidance provided by your government because they had your best interest in mind
Amen
He just slayed every carb in 5 seconds rip 😂😅
Man I love and respect this guy. 💯💪🏾💯

Glad you like it. Stay safe and healthy.
My longest period of not being hungry was 4.5 days

Awesome!
Hope this post was helpful!
Dr Berg. I'm Italian. Pasta and Pizza are fundamental to us and provide much of the joy in a life that is miserable if you let it get away from you. I don't eat them every day however can't go a week without them at least once. No sodas. No dessert. No juice. Peace.
Pasta and pizza = joy. Agreed 😁
I said bye bye 3 days ago bread pasta cokies sugar! Just 3 days ago! and I feel greats!
I'll try ditching the toast this wk & just stick with the coffee.
i applaud you for going out of your way and adding a custom thumbnail for the shorts.
Wow! When he says all those food items to skip.... I started nodding my head like a good song was starting play 😂😂

@Drberg Is pink Himalayan salt good to use or does it have to be sea salt?
Salt is Sodium Cloride, so no, there is no difference. The dude is a chiropractor, so take his advice with a grain of Himalyan salt.
Himalayan salt and sea salt have more minerals in them than basic salt. Better for your health.
@@erinnab8335depends on the minerals. Could contain toxins as there is no control
