They only removed the duel arena because they were getting investigated for allowing gambling in a kids game by the UK parliament
Oh shit really?? That’s kinda wild if it’s true.
they should just argue staking is a game of skill bc style switching afufufu
Image trying to link “dueling” with gambling. Afufu
Fifa is sure glad they are hidden under the radar
@@clownwrld7 Fifa argues that there’s no gambling considering you buy fifa points and are not able to sell those for money.
Like dino said people start chasing the high of gaining massive amounts of gold fast, so much faster than any of the best PvM methods in the entire game. Then they lose it all and quit.
And the stimulation you get from winning big amounts of gp gambling takes away the stimulation you get from grinding pvm drops and high pk kills. Dino is right, for some ppl it takes away the motivation to do anything else because they want the high of winning rather than enjoying the process of the game. Different story for mvp gamers. This is targeting the avg player
@@UFC-99 Absolutely. “Why would I grind X content when I could win 10b in a single match?”
That happened to me 15 years ago, it was a good lesson for a teenager. Also a great way to get rid of the osrs addiction.
Same goes for buying gold when you realize how cheap it is. Completely ruined the game for me and was gambling a lot in the past. Had no motivation whatsoever to play so I made a Ironman
Don't know how true this is but I think duel arena was removed due to potentially getting in trouble with UK gambling regulators
Exactly …
idk you see mobile games do it all the time just look at 8 ball pool you can buy currency and stake it at a game if you are really good its really just a 50%50 sometimes or even coin slot games runescape is full of 30 year olds just rate it m and be done
All things have a life cycle, there will be attention brought to DMing the same way that duel arena and gambling addiction got brought to light in a real world setting. It too shall pass
How is it gambling? It’s video game money…
@@DelFlo Here, take this amulet.
Dino casually explaining gambling addiction in runescape metaphor :)
actually hella fire idea. we need way more gold sinks
Yeah so let's skip all ethical ways and skip straight to gambling
@@aleksandrpetrin1799well they are not banning
thousands, maybe even trillions
Wooow
Jajaja
so what part did they agree on? you just showed 2 peoples opinions. they werent the same opinion. The title is totally incorrect.
Shut up noob
there was a guy in my clan that was deathmatching for about a month, he went from 7bil to about 20bil, then one day he was gone, found out from clanmates he got cleaned, its been 2 months since and he hasnt returned, really is a shame
Guy has a gambling problem, probs never even did rfd, bought his acc and inferno cape
The whole reason duel arena left the game is because jagex was getting prosecuted saying that it was a gambling website. If it wasn’t for that, it would still be around. Deathmatching is just a work around and no one’s said anything about it. Jagex will turn a blind eye until they start to get sued or prosecuted. If 1 out of 1000 DMers buy bonds from jagex website that’s still major profit for them and they do not care.
they should have left duel arena in but remove all rules on duel.
zero restriction duels would basically be like risk fighting, but you keep the gear risk cash & 2% can get taxed
those guys would still share their gear/inventory with plugins to make sure they fight 50-50 lol
They can't they had to remove it because of the law in the uk
even then they would just show inventory with 28 vials to make sure nobody took any gear with them (i guess you could smuggle a ring if you can't turn off equipment but everyone would do it anyway) so it would still be considered a way to facilitate gambling in the eyes of the law.
If people left DMing and went pking it would be the same shit lol. People agreeing to gear and just dming to the end. Wildy would not change at all. Or am I missing something that is currently regulated in PvP worlds and the wildy?
good question
Cause death matching is braindead yet addicting. You actually have to use effort to risk fight. You'll be drained after 2-3 fights and turn off the game and enjoy your day. Death matching you can do 20 in a row and still wanna do more.
@@tubax926also sense of scale having someone hold gold for you isn't going to happen, crowds wouldn't form as in that case other people can interfere. Would it still be possible? Ofcourse, but it would be harder meaning a lot less people do it.
See what oda talks about bringing back duel area would be huge
If they tax it they will do the same they do in death match. Trade to 3rd person and give winner all it with some going to middle man
I love the huge tax idea, combat inflation forreal and helps regulate a part of the game that will always find some way to subvert the rules, like they'll ban DMing but these tic tacs will find a way to gamble on the game regardless. Best to just make it official, tax it to benefit the game and if anyone offloads the gold Instant ban.
doubt dming would have that much of an impact on pking general if it were to be banned, i reckon the majority of people who dm do it just because its the only real option left for gambling
A good portion of them have a good amount of pk skills, and have burnt out from that and turned to DMing, this may make them revert to pking again
Tax them up to 30% If 9.499b++
trillions, maybe even. millions
yea that tax would be cool except theyd find another way to gamble without that tax being taken
Why does it sound like asterixs in the start of the clip
HOW CAN I DOUBLE LIKE THIS IDEA YOU HAVE O
Removed the duel arena but very happy to push keys down the throats of rs3 platers..
Not saying I agree or disagree but how do jagex regulate it?
~ Bring back DA staking
~ Cap stake limit to 100m/duel and/or 1B per day
~ Tax hard 10%
~ Make it impossible to x-stake, make it GP only, with a hard limit on how far apart each stakers gamble can be. 100k or so.
(Other idea)
Make it so jagex can calculate your total bank value like runelite does. And make it where you are only able to stake like 10-20% of your total bank value. This would eliminate people getting cleaned, and make it difficult to use staking as a RWT farming method. (May have to figure out a way to prevent people from trading their banks to another account to circumvent the limit however)
I dont see the problem with uneven stakes if there’s also a daily stake limit. Extreme odds can be fun, the only problem is being able to lose everything super quickly before you can rethink your choices. So if anything do 100m/duel, 1b/day, and limit the frequency of duels to like 3-6 per hour so that you’re forced to cool off for 10-20mins and decide if you really want to stake that 100m again.
As others have said this won’t happen because of regulatory pressure against Jagex, but it seems like a well regulated duel arena might be better for the gambling addicts than unregulated dming.
@@0oShwavyo0 Because the odds stakers are working like a Casino, they will always come out on top with higher odds, it's stupid regardless.
What’s the difference between risk and death matching??
late reply but death matching is 2 players take similar risk and its a 50/50 who wins and there is little skill involved. you have to stay to one of you dies. no eating whatsover is allowed. with risk fighting you are are fighting with a high amount of gp but you are fighting for real if that makes sense. you are allowed to eat, teleport etc.
i feel like dino's stance on deathmatching being bad is out of concern for the player and oda just wants people to risk fight so he can have the noobs who would otherwise DM as easy targets.
with all the drama and BS that DMing has caused, jagex not doing something about it is embarrassing at this point
good idea
Naw bring rank gnome ball with insane cash prizes LMFAO
additionally rwting will be worth it again
This aged poorly haha, Dm'ing just got announced as bannable, lets fucking go
People are dumb if they think Jagex isn't laundering millions from this game and gambling has to occur for them to make money. It's one big scam, if you ever owned a private server even a small shitty one, you'd know what I'm talking about. Easy money for Jagex.
L I T E R A L L Y this. Jagex has to have HELLA inside hands and outside profit from this game.
Bonds. Gold farming. Bots. If a regular ass 16 year old can make a couple hundred bucks off RS without trying, imagine the company!
@@EndlessOceans Yep.. I'm actually incredibly surprised the media in the UK hasn't attacked them already
nobody would use the duel arena if tax was that high, DMing would be more popular since it's already established.
Atleast at the area, it was ur own fault if u Got scammed
1:07 well they won't do that cause its gambling, they don't actually wanna play the game, they have the ingame money to do it but they don't care to play the game, its too much, they'd rather watch numbers go up. You only wanna ban it cause its already made you rich lmao
The mans got a point lol
LET THEM KNOW BIG O
100% agree based take
Dam o smart for once
could someoen explain to me what is death matching is?
its when you make a bet and someone matches it and then you just stand still and let rng take the wheel
Usually its people in full dharoks and supercombat who just attack and let rng decide who wins. No eating, no praying, no switching gear etc.
Often they will do two claw specs and the rest in full dh, but basically each person has the same stats/gear/attacks with a huge cash risk on the line.
@@yumivt oh so it's basically duel arena but in high risk worlds ?
@@alexdgod1106 yes scuffed replacement for duel arena
It's literally just gambling. You aren't playing a game anymore. You aren't making decisions. You're just gambling.
Dming is gambling because you litterly wait for rng to role in
Whoo!! Let's go trillions!!

What’s Deathmatching?
It’s essentially an all RNG fight, use same gear (Usually Dharok set, sometimes start off with double dclaw spec, super combat, no prayer). It’s essentially gambling a few bils to just RNG and no real PVP “skill”.
They should never have added the wildy ditch or the wild at all
