Fun fact: Ray Liotta voiced the protagonist Tommy Vercetti in 2002's GTA Vice City. Tommy Vercetti's character was heavily inspired by Henry Hill and obviously Tony Montana from 1983's Scarface.
Henry Hill eventually settled in Seattle where I live. He ran a restaurant here for several years and was even interviewed by a local TV news station at one point. One night when I was driving home on 80th Street North in between Highway 99 and my former home in Lake City about 10 years ago, I saw Henry Hill driving westbound on 80th Street North in a foam green Subaru Legacy. I waved at him, and he waved back. A couple of years later, Henry Hill passed away because of his poor health due to his unhealthy lifestyle. That's my Henry Hill story.
Henry betrayed them all.... there is no honor among thieves. The people whom he betrayed were most likely going to kill him. They are criminals these are not nice people. You honestly can't expect to much .
They were absolutely going to take him out. Jimmy the Gent was off the rails with paranoia. The people calling him a rat are the same who squawk about “never talk to the police. Get a lawyer.” They’d crack within a minute of being parked in an interrogation room. Henry Hill did what he did to save his life. Self-preservation is an instinct. I mean, who was really betrayed here?
Paul the Crew boss was boinking Henry's wife for years. Henry couldn't do anything about it because he was only a "connected" guy. I have no sympathy for them.
@@GuitarGuru357-rz9eb Another thing is that if Hill is to be believed (and that's a big IF), Burke even tried to whack Karen. You know, the scene where he wants to "give her some clothes" and sends her to a dark, obviously empty store with two shady guys waiting inside.
@@lukaskolisek2208 while Hill was the very definition of an “unreliable narrator”, Burke was undeniably capable of planning to take him and Karen out. I don’t think Hill had anything to do with the Lufthansa heist, so he wasn’t trying to cover his own ass with that. I’m willing to believe that he had a very real reason to fear for his safety at that point.
Henry Hill was on drugs and alcohol for most of his life so he was most likely under the influence when telling all his stories. Furthermore, all the stories were told by Hill's viewpoint. Therefore, Henry Hill was not going to say that he was as bad as his fellow gangsters.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who can see clearly that he definitely killed people and denied all of it to not get buried in jail and it actually worked hhh
A lot of people like to act like they’re card carrying, made members of La Cosa Nostra and call Henry a “rat”. They were going to kill him out of paranoia. Completely unwarranted. What the hell was he supposed to do? Take it like a man?
No, but if go on the lam and move out of state. Way better than flipping and essentially proving their point. Edit: Eitherway I can't blame him for going to the feds as self-preservation is human nature. But the worst bit to me is these guys flip as soon as they face significant time yet might later claim they had a change of heart or that they would have done the time on the chin. If that's the case then testify out of spite and ask the judge for the full sentence as if you hadn't.
One of the problems with the movie is that Ray liotta was so good looking and charming that you would think. Todd, his wife loved him for who he was. In reality she just loved the money he was throwing around.

@@GordiansKnotHere I reckon he more than likely did. There is a simple reason Hill maintained until he died that he didn’t murder anyone: Murder has no statute of limitations. If he’d ever talked about people he’d murdered, he would instantly be arrested and charged with those murders. My assumption based on the stories is that any murders that Burke and DeSimone committed, Hill was also involved in to a significant degree, even if he wasn’t the button man.
