Significance of Poanglüm. The Chang Naga tribe observes Poanglüm which is also called winter festival in the month of January. The festival is observed to commemorate the completion of the year-long agriculture activities. The festival is celebrated to honour the ‘god of providence’ for filling the barns of the cultivators after the tiresome summer. The festival is also a time for the villagers to sing songs of fulfilment, praise, honour friendship during Poanglüm.
