Lapel pins are your friend. Disneybounding as Rapunzel? A chameleon pin in gold or copper would work great, or you could craft a tie bar or tie pin with a little frying pan from the dollhouse section of your local craft store. Also, how can you forget socks?! A dapper pair of loafers plus awesome socks works wonders, highlighted more by pin-rolled pant cuffs.
Eek! If we ever dye a piece again in the future, we will film it! Basically, the jacket was light blue to begin with, so I got Rit Dye in turquoise and green, and mixed the two, to dye the jacket. It came out VERY vibrant, so I ran it through the washing machine about 8 times to fade the color :)
I am just getting into making more custom bow ties and stuff. A super easy way is to find a charm or cabochon style pendant, gently cut the necklace bit off, sand the leftover down and glue it in the center of your bow tie Another one for tie wearers is tie clips.
this dapper day i went hard core at vintage and antique store. i was lucky enough too that portland had a huge vintage expo last weekend!! to me its was a cheap way to get period type clothing. my hat was $7, my buttons in sewing on a dress we $.25 each and my suitcase was $10. pretty good if you ask me and all vintage
This video help me out big. I'm going to Spooky Empire's Spooky Day in the Park in Disney World. And their having a Disney bound party type thing and I'm NOT a dress wearer. So this video gave me lots of ideas for my dapper Jack Skellington.
disney-bounders should use the app/ website Polyvore it gives you the price and place to buy clothes and you can put together a whole outfit a lot quicker and looks like you put a lot of effort into the bound when irl you spend maybe an hour not a week of two.
Kim Ward I love polyvore- I actually discovered it in 2008 and have been using it ever since. I definitely agree! It sucks when the perfect piece for a bound is designer and out of the price range for what I can afford lol
you find and layout clothes and accessories and the site gives you prices of the merch and where to find that product or similar ones, check out my page to give you an idea. its like having a magazine :P kimberlyward.polyvore.com/
I'm sooo sad that I'm missing Dapper Day this year! But I'm even more sad I won't be able to meet you guys! I'll be in the parks Tuesday through Friday. I wish I could come just 2 days earlier. 😭
I'm a big fan of pins that are emblematic of the character to help distinguish your look. especially if you're going as someone more obscure. This Spring my room mate and I went as date night Bernard and Bianca from the Rescuers Down Under and we needed the extra boost in recognizability. Pins are a big help there.
I'm going to dapper day for the first time and because I don't have a lot of money to spend, i'm going to try to work with what I got. I'm really nervous about it, but excited to see how it turns out! I'm using a hat to kinda show who I'm supposed to be and I'm wearing a Disney pin to kinda help out with that too. :)
Most of the time we find pieces for disneybounds at Goodwill! And they have stuff that works for Dapper Day as well :) Don't let anyone trick you into thinking you need to drop fat cash to look fly on dapper day ;) You got this!
If a character is known for their hair color, I like to accessories with a bandana in said hair color tie around my neck or in my hair ( depending on the rest of the outfit ) to represent their hair.
I'm doing my first dapper day this year!!!! Going shopping today for my outfit and I want to Disney bound as Snow White. Does anybody have any tips? :)
I just did this for Halloween! I did a pale yellow-almost-tan skirt (not bright yellow so it was a subtle similarity to the movie), a dark blue shirt with an open back and a black tank top underneath (reference to her black hair), black flats, a red jewel bracelet, engraved heart necklace, and a red hair bow. Also make sure to do the signature dark red lipstick. It actually worked out really well I think! Everyone understood who I was! And this was my first disneybound so I'm very proud ;)
One thing that confuses me is you don't have to disneybound on dapper day right ...? Or is that a dumb question ... hahaha idk I'm kinda embarrassed for posting this comment. I would totally disneybound if I were able to go, but I'm curious
Thank you for the inclusive language! I appreciate that you acknowledge that not all who dress in a stereotypically masculine way identify as male/man.
The Dapper Day website states, "We are not trying to recreate a specific period. Just as people once dressed in their Sunday best in the 50's and 60's when visiting Disneyland, we're continuing that tradition of "stepping out in style" with a fun contemporary flair." All of the outfits in this video are stylish and spiffy and are totally within the spirit of Dapper Day.

I would love to see a tutorial on how you dyed the jacket!

The Wreck It Ralph outfit duo was so incredibly cute!!!

That pic of yall being Bianca and Bernard was the best
Belts can also be a big one because they come in many colors and patterns.
Nice haircut leo! I'm so excited to see what you guys wear for Dapper Day!

Kim Ward I don't get that site, Pinterest often sends me to it & it's just weird to me. What is it trying to do?

I'm sooo sad that I'm missing Dapper Day this year! But I'm even more sad I won't be able to meet you guys! I'll be in the parks Tuesday through Friday. I wish I could come just 2 days earlier. 😭

Thingamavlogs oh awesome! That's true! Thank you so much!!

Eliza Kathryn You said this and I looked at your profile picture. Did you do this there to look like Rapunzel? If so, well done!
I've done that for Phones and Ferb. I also use bandanas instead of bows if there is a certain look I want.
I'm so sad I just missed dapper day. Had the best Ariel dress too!
Dapper day is this upcoming Sunday. You didn't miss it.
i did :( I flew back to Hawaii last week :"(

Woke af Latinx

I'm doing my first dapper day this year!!!! Going shopping today for my outfit and I want to Disney bound as Snow White. Does anybody have any tips? :)
Sarah Reich just try to get clothes that are red, yellow, blue. Everyone will definitely know you're Snow White😊

Leo! I remind you that you had the goal of eating 100 churros by the end of the year!! Have you found a way to doument it?? How is it going so far??
I'm the second comment... oh gosh... CAN I TELL THIS TO MY SIBLINGS?
For if you REALLY want to dapper Babette (like Me) wear feather earrings, pins, necklaces, hair pins
I'm doing my dapper disneybounding as ant man
Can't wait til I have a boyfriend to dress up with me
One thing that confuses me is you don't have to disneybound on dapper day right ...? Or is that a dumb question ... hahaha idk I'm kinda embarrassed for posting this comment. I would totally disneybound if I were able to go, but I'm curious
Gabrielle Medina You technically don't have to, but it's fun and the vast majority of dapper park guests do :)
Gabrielle Medina you definitely don't have to :)
When you're from Argentina and you can't go to the dapper day 😭
Thank you for the inclusive language! I appreciate that you acknowledge that not all who dress in a stereotypically masculine way identify as male/man.
Where did you find the leaf pattern material for your nick Wilde vest?
Mark Pope he painted it on with a fabric marker
Thingamavlogs Thank you! I'll have to look into that.
When's dapper day
At Disneyland it's this Sunday :)
Is it just me or does Leo have a crooked jaw? Or is it the way he talks? Ugh idk I'm confused
Are you bounding or directing traffic? None of the outfits you've shown here are dapper.
