Certainly did get something out of that Dave we get quite a few battery issues on JLR Vehicles. Even though we have one I’m not a fan of those internal resistance battery testers like yourself I’ve charged a know duff battery only to be told by said tester it’s a good battery 🔋. I have the Same Unit T and it’s a fantastic tool. Always enjoy your content Dave you would make a brilliant tutor at a technical college.

    Nice job Dave, Merry Christmas!

Dave, you’re a star. I’ve been looking to buy one of these clamps for a while. Didn’t want to spend mad money. This looks ideal. Cheers.

Very good again Dave and brilliantly explained the pico is an awesome tool.I have seen lots of them AGM batteries fall off the cliff around the 4 year mark 👍

  • @1954307

brilliant info vid dave keep them comming....

  • @kennedysgarage3281

Great tutorial Dave, like a lot of other commenters I’m not a big fan of the smart battery testers. I have found that they tell me a battery is good but going flat on the customer. When i do a 10s load test and smart test afterwards it condemns the battery.

  • @-DC-

    Masterclass Dave 👍

  • @ianjsallen100

    Brilliant video thanks

Used the same Durite tester when working for Gadeor Portadown in 1974 and still have it in Australia but changed the side panels to marine ply as the old panels may have been asbestos.

Interesting stuff as usual Dave. When I heard you say ‘There’s no repair here’, it made me think about how to bill a job like this. Would have been very easy just to throw a new battery in it and say I’ve done a charging system test and parasitic drain test and everything is fine so it’s getting a battery. We know you better than that though 😉. The obvious value here for the customer is that you saved him from buying a battery that he didn’t need. I’m sure he’ll appreciate that. Now, I’m off shopping for Uni-T amp clamp. If it’s good enough for the legend that is Sandy Anderson then it’s good enough for me 😂. Have a great Christmas and New Year.

This is exactly why old cars are great.

  • @AutoFocus-se

An important topic, when temperature drops people usually reminds the health of the battery. ;) Thanks.

  • @mechanicmatt871

    Hi Dave, merry Christmas mate

  • @Tec2Nut

Any reason the screen on the F pace dies for 30 seconds, and sometimes loses Bluetooth connectivity for days ?

  • @simonrawle7885

Hello Dave ! I’m writing you from belgium. Yesterday I bought a 2021 E-Pace (D165 MHEV). It says Pivi needs to be updated but each times I tried to install it says that it didn’t succeed because the battery is weak. The car starts without any problem. I drove about 130km since I own it. I still tried this afternoon but it still doesn’t work… Do you think I need to replace the 12v battery ? In such a case can I do it by myself or it needs to be done via the dealer for OBD reasons? I can’t find any answer to my question n the net… Thanks for your advices, Kind regards.
