Hi! Racecar driver here! I have one recommendation for you on this project! Ground effect! Get some balsa wood and cover the holes on the bottom of your chassis and make side skirts. This will generate a lot of down force and will effectively let you take off your rear wing and replace it with a rudder fin (Shark Fin in Formula 1/Prototype cars). This will lessen drag big time and may help you push the car even faster than you plan! It will also even out your grip level between tires allot more than a big rear wing and splitter will and should help stop the car from having a take off incident.
@@monk3yman1997 I've seen some builds that didn't cut out the wheel wells and had enough clearance to turn. It's probably dependent on the body or something.
iam really enjoying your Projekt ''World's Fastest Rc Car'' thanks for the good entertainment in each of your videos Kevin :D and i think the car will take off in the middle of the ride haha
They have much more sophisticated areo dynamic systems with millions of dollars and thousand of hours in development... A more astonishing open wheel speed demons would be top fuel dragsters but like F1 cars are also rear wheel drive and if they were to hit a bump and have the front wheels lift off the ground it would cause the car to become more unstable but not loose power so if the front wheels on this RC were to lift even a little bit, he'd loose lots of speed and if the tires are not up for it, theoretical could break loose like engaging a clutch too fast on a car and spin out of control
Dalen Parent F1 engineers could probably reach those speeds as well but then they are sacrificing areo and chassis abilities but F1 is more than straights there is tire wear, corners etc, but F1 and dragster are both marvels of engineering, I’ve always wanted to see what the F1 guys, drag car people, wec (pretty much closed wheel F1 cars that race for 8 - 24 hours straight) could make without all the regulations each discipline has
Loveing watching your series of these hobbygrade builds! Some aero suggestions from an aspiring aerodynamisist :P Hopefully you haven't cut the rear wheel covers yet, because tire wind turbulence is the biggest factor of air drag, and leaving it covered massively reduces your drag coefficient. Would also recommend cutting vents for the tires directly behind them in the body to vent the massive tire turbulence pressure and improve downforce. You could also be sneaky and pull what Ford did with the new GT and run bypass ducts in the back that basically turn the body into a teardrop while keeping the stock look. Would also think about adding an F1/LMP1 rear vertical center slat to keep the car stable at those speeds. You could also do what McLaren did and long tail it by feeding into a long tapered tail.
@@DriftomaniacsRC I would also work on removing all parts generating exsessive downforce. This is essentially there to increase friction while cornering. On a straight line you want the friction as low as possible to the ground while still maintaining contact (its not an airplane..) I really think that body needs to go and be replaced. 200mph is much more of an aerodynamic challenge than one might think.
Kevin. I like what I see, but a few things come to mind..... 1. Lift the rear of the chassis to help with ground effect. Free downforce 👍 I wouldn't bother lowering the front as the aerodynamics will probably push it onto the floor. 2. moving the rear wing backwards may help the diffuser create a lower pressure under the car and create more downforce. 3. I think you might need to put stiffer springs on the shocks, but wait till you run the car to look at the bottom of the chassis. 4. Definitely trim the rear wing or if possible make it adjustable. 5. Tires. Foams have more grip, so be careful with the steering at high speed. One false move and the car can roll. 6. Steering. Get a high torque servo. The gyroscope forces of those wheels and tires are going to be big, if you want to control the car then power steering is he way. Also you can fit a rocket motor in the back for more speed 😜
Tips: Run the 3200's on 5s or maximum 5s high voltage lipos, since you will probably break the motors on 6s. Heavy car, equal to 1-1 pinion spur. Use either Castle mmx or xlx escs, if the build is no limit budget car, 2 mgm escs.. Still probably possible to run 170 mph on 5s.. Good luck Kevin! 😊👍
Awesome! I'd cut slots in the body and mount the wing in the original location. Seems to me the further back it's mounted will cause the front end to come up sooner at high speeds.
So im sure you got plenty of advice already but there are a few things that i think could help you go faster. Here they are: Dont add the rear wing, especially this one, its gonna slow the car down a lot. Get rid of the diffuser too, same adds much drag. Balance the wheels, at those speeds the vibrations are going to be crazy. Its a good idea to add an undertray, try to seal it as well as possible around the tires everywhere. Perhaps try to streamline the rear of the car, make it like a drop shape. Will reduce drag a lot. Seal the wheel arches perhaps. Thats all i can think of. I hope it will help you. Really looking forward to the next video!
Make slot in the shell for the rear wing to put back into original mount. Remove the horizontal wing so there is far less drag but maintain lateral stability with the verticals. Check out the high speed Jesko Absolut. Run the old F1 type side skirt to use ground effect to suck it onto the road without too much drag. You might need to improve the rear diffuser to make it work nicely. Cool project, looking forward to seeing more
The back fin is there for a reason It’s to hold the wheels down to get traction, now it’s going to sound like a speedboat with small spirts of traction
Then probably there will be no gearbox after first run putting 20kW on it. Also gearbox makes a lot of friction. In Kevin's setup, when he connected motors directly to the diff, he has to spin motors to 56154 RPM to hit 320km/h or 200mph. At 70000 RPM theoretically he can do 402km/h or 251 mph.
@@falconidaes true and even if it was to go faster then 402km/h the other factor at that those speeds would be the aero-dynamics or an area long and flat/smooth enough to do a run
I know that cutting such big holes in the chassis won't help the aerodynamics, those sharp edges will create a lot of turbulences that might lift the car off the ground. Other than that, it's an absolute beast and I know I'll have a great time watching Kev as he beats the world record 😂😂
Kev - suggest putting magnets on the sides (just one in the middle) to keep them closer to the body of the car. They make 4mm bodies I would also get that. Also lower the front like 1mm as well... You want to adjust the body camber as the rear will sit down at spped as you know...
Leave the wheel well closed for aerodynamics, cut the body to fit the spoiler’s stock position because moving it back can cause the center of downforce to be moved back and can take off. Not only that but the fins will be less effective due to minor vortexes from low and high air pressure. Even with that small amount, the size of the car is magnifying everything more than a full size car would. Looking forward to the build👍
Kevin, love this idea, as long as you belivie in your self its all that mathers. 100,150 or 203, i am sure regardless numbers its one xxxx of a build ❤, and you did it by your self, haters and knowers will allways comment. Can bearly wait for next vid 😍
I know this build is 100% about top speed, but I can't wait to see what it looks like with the body fully trimmed and painted, and the rear wing placement figured out. I think it's going to look AMAZING!
One option would be to fit an automatic aero wing which people sell for the limitless, it reduces the angle and drag at speed but under braking moves back up to keep the rear end pinned down under braking. Might be worth testing
With the wing kev I reckon groove it and mount in stock location with the back tab trimmed like you mentioned, dont mount futher back tho as the further back you have it from the rear axle any down force will be multiplied. The futher past the pivot point you go the easier it is to lift that frount end off the ground and flip it 👍 hope that helps at all. Can't wait to see the finished product great content 👍
It will probably be better if u leave the arches on . The air will go past the side with no hesitation if u left them . If u cut them out it probably will cause more air in the shell as the wind will fly in there and cause problems. Just trying to help

Yeah the drag/downforce in the spoiler is a lot you should cut it down and give the fins a angle 📐 for slight downforce and less drag
