for me i cant memorise unless i say it out loud to myself at least once...sometimes i have to repeat speaking each word out loud again

I was going to say I was wondering since I used to do those mindmaps and chapter summaries but they used to take me so long and drained me too.
Hi, just found out your channel.
If you feel like getting drained by doing mindmaps then it certainly means you're doing too much of it.
For History don't hesitate to make a giant arrow with important dates written around ir, with different colors according to their importance or what they're related to, and read your summarized lessons regularly, and be really proactive about it, make some quizzes and don't be afraid to question yourself about notions you still don't master.
Also read your notes right before bed while being focused on it (on your notes, not on your bed) that's when you memorize the most because your brain is gonna filter it throughout your sleep.
Don't hesitate to add a little much more colors so you can identify the different structures and chapters (not too much otherwise your brain won't catch up).
Mindmaps timelapses are satisfying to look at but you also have to think of yourself, especially about the time you """lose""" at doing them as you feel like it's draining more than anything.
Here were some thoughts and advices, please don't take it personally and don't feel discouraged. Just some advice from a grown up that finished university and that got to help students with their studies as a job and got to see their more common mistakes and fears ❤

Hey, I’ve always sucked at history and I’ve an exam coming up and you motivated me to study that but, if you could explain what exactly doing write in your mind maps and how is it different from those summaries, it would be of great help. Thanksssss
thank you!! I do have a video coming up that is taking a little longer than expected 😅 but my mindmaps and summaries are pretty similar! I just try to take the most important points related to questions in exams and write from there!

Hi, I have some tips for revision; for history and geography you can find some videos that explains many lessons, also search for practice exam or tests for each discipline, practicing is the best way to memorize (in my opinion) they really helps me during exams or test and finally don't be afraid to ask help from your camarades sometimes they are the best teachers.

however, if there are still some things that you don't understand please tell me again! honestly my mindmaps are just like how i write notes, so its just for visualisation not really for practice.
I summarise my notes usually based on Freyman;s technique where you try and simplify your textbooks and explaining it to a 5 year old child:)) hope this helps!

I usually edit on my way to school in the bus😭😭 or honestly just sitting down for an hour does help me edit quite a bit, it’s more about time management

quizlet! but you can also try out scrintal, both work really well - scrintal is much more useful for mindmapping and they do make your notes looks pretty and neat hehe so they've been a big help for me
