Fun fact, the LEGENDARY Prince actually did a cover to this song at one of his concerts which is a huge deal bc he was real picky about music and who he did covers of. REAL RECOGNIZE REAL tho and he appreciated Bey’s artistry. 💯💯

Suga Mama always gave me 70s Aretha meets Tina Turner vibes. Very funky, very retro, very go-go. One of B'Day's best highlights. The album is one long banger from track to track and showed off her vocal range, much like her album "4".
Countdown is fabulous, but the controversy was real. I recognized the plagiarized choreography the moment I saw it. Years earlier, while in college, I studied dance. We had watched the original piece by the artist and it was very impressive. Naturally, her team stole it and gave no credit.
