😞I’m sorry 😞 In my own defense, the reason why had to use channel 16 is because in my area at Lake Lanier in Buford, GA, NO ONE ever responds when I use the other channels. I do try them before using channel 16. I uncomfortable heading out on the lake without making sure my radio works. I have a portable Cobra marine radio & can’t afford a fancy radio that costs $$$ right now, but I want to practice safety. Please forgive me. What else am I supposed to do but use channel 16 if no one ever answers any of the other channels?😭

Is this DSC test number still working? And does this work in most ports on the east coast of the US?
As far as we are aware this is still the most current way to test your VHF. Of course your mileage may vary depending on where your located
