Can the pipe hangers also work for emt? I currently use it for pvc but want to move to emt do to rigitity

No, we do not recommend using our #770 clips with 1/2" EMT as there is not sufficient force to prevent the pipe from turning. You can use standard metal clamps such as: www.homedepot.com/p/0-ACC-Conduit-and-Pipe-Hangers-5-Pack-26780/100130865
