As a big fan of the Caymans and owned several in my life time including 981 GTS + GT4 + now GT4RS, I can say I believe 981 GTS is a bargain car to buy nowadays, it's peak of daily driven Caymans, reliability is simply best I have seen or had in Porsche, it have all sort of Porsche qualities in it, the prices are really bargain were at some point....
As for GT4RS, what gonna hold it's value is the fact it's last petrol powered Cayman ever made + the one every Cayman owner was dreaming of which is GT3 engine at the back....... But I expect some dip because I believe Porsche will make many of them and easily over 2000 cars..... Another speculation I have is that I smell a heritage or limited edition variant of it, there's nothing indicates that so far but somehow recent news of Porsche building 2 variants of some models (1 petrol + 1 EV) telling me that GT4RS will still be built alongside electric Cayman and potentially a limited edition model to end it all

Love hearing GTS praise since I bought one last year at the height of the market. Financially, the decision could have been better since I likely paid $5-$10 more than it was worth, but it was a goldilocks spec and it was local. On a backroad in the real world, I'm still competitive with my GT3 friends for 1/3 the price which is good enough for me.

this is extremely true. 981 GTS is an amazing car, more so than many new Porsche products. definitely the best sounding car I've driven outside of 991.2 and 992.1 gt3 with aftermarket exhaust. I genuinely believe its the best sounding cayman, even more than 981 gt4 and definitely better than any 718 outside of GT4RS.
its a used option that content makers don't talk much nor have buzz these days but is and will be an absolute gem once people swing their heads and look back. I genuinely think its better than any 991.1 911 even in terms of fun.
just such a pure fun car that isn't so serious all the time

@@ZDY66666 I drove/owned nearly every Porsche that came out past decade apart of 918, and I totally agree, infact 981 GTS I kept it the longest between all my Porsche owned cars, then sold it, couldn't stay without it for 5 months so I bought it again for another year lol, until I got Lotus Emira and GT4RS......
GT4RS is another level to other Caymans so normally I don't compare it to others, it's another level in price and experience.... But 981 GTS from all 981/718 Caymans is best I drove.... Such a fun car for a ridiculously amazing price in second hand market with reliability I never seen in any car despite over 10 track days taken in it....

Love your insight. Have had my GT4RS for about 6 months now. I’m a long time track day junkie. I had a 718 GT4 which I really loved and traded it towards the 4RS, they are quite different animals. The 4RS is a visceral beast. I also have a 2014 981 Cayman S that is my daily driver and the car I risk on the track the most. These are incredible, reliable cars that have great support from fellow enthusiasts and aftermarket suppliers. If you buy them right, you can drive them for what a lesser car would cost over the life of ownership.

I believe one of the only reasons the Porsche market rebounded a little bit was because they are simply just not producing them. I have been on the list for a 911 turbo for 3 years now. It should have been produced in early 2022. Still no word on it. By the time I get it it will be a 992.2. this will all change once production resumes back to a normal pace.

The value proposition for a 718 GT4 at $120k is quite clear, but at $150k it becomes less obvious. Chances are if you have $120k to drop on a car, spending $150k on a GT3 isn’t too big of a leap.

Why you need to buy one now, economically:
    1. Inflation, it would cost Porsche more to make an identical car now, that higher cost will be passed on to the consumer. Porsche is a listed public company, there will be a profit margin based on higher production cost
    3. The next iteration Gt4 will certainly be substantially more expensive vs the 981 and 718, as it’s new and next gen
    4. The car has become a cult status on its own and the GT brand is now so highly desired no one here will get an allocation
    5. MSRP premiums will sky rocket thus supporting prices or pushing it higher for the 981and 718s
981 is the first GT4, there will always be newer GT4s, this is the car to get your hands on, you won’t make money but you won’t lose money either.

Who owns a Cayman or even a Boxster (981,982)should keep it, the production ends in 2024, there is a new noise regulation (EU) coming, which will be mandatory in June 2024, therefore I expect the prices to remain on high level.

Loved the vid as always! But man, I gotta say, I just can't jump on the Porsche GT4 hype train. Yeah, it's great at hugging the corners and glides nicely on winding roads, and it definitely has the lighter feel and better visibility going for it. But when it comes to the steering feel, I expected more from Porsche, given their reputation. It honestly doesn't feel any better than what you get with an AMG GT C, which, by the way, comes with an amazing engine.
And speaking of engines, the GT4 kinda left me wanting more - it doesn't have that explosive punch I was looking for. When I drove it, hitting the gas felt more Golf R than powerhouse sports car, which isn't what you'd expect with that hefty price tag.
I just can't wrap my head around why people are dishing out so much cash for it when there are so many other solid options on the market that offer a lot more bang for the buck. If you're really keen on getting one, maybe consider the Spyder for at least some open-top joy and those great aesthetics. Anyway, eager to see what you'll showcase in the next vid!
