Love love love this video. Scouting the actual fighter and seeing it work in game is soooooo satisfying to see and speaks to the realism of this game when you use a fighter properly
tdrivers1102 yeah man. Every time I watch these videos I’m blown away by Martial Mind’s observations and depth of MMA knowledge. His constant refining and experimenting is amazing with EASUFC3. Not only is he always improving, he always shares his discoveries and helps others to get better.
What Jon is really effective at in this last fight is the oblique & leg kicks while DC is entering the pocket. Ppl will say it’s cheesy in this game but the constant leg kicks forced dc to block low when jon went high with the head kick from southpaw
I’m sad at the wasted potential every time I think of Jon Jones. He was the most exciting MMA fighter in the world to watch IMO. Now he’s in disgrace having to watch Daniel Cormier achieve and become everything that Jones wanted to become. Bums me out, still no disrespect to DC though, he earned his success with hard work and did it honourably.
MrSuperchacho77 someone with a short reach. Add in that Cormier is a grappler so if he can’t land his shots he’s looking to grab the opponent. This is entirely different to Jones having around ten inches in reach over everyone and seemingly poking them regardless.
The Answer he does have the rear push kick. But I've learned how to use the rear body hook more efficiently. I use the lead but the rear from southpaw. Does major damage!
Fidel Castro sometimes the lead elbow doesn’t hit at all though. I’d have to switch stances sometimes. But the animation from the last one was a bit better for me.
You you watch Jon, he also constantly is landing oblique kicks. If your really trying to mimic Jon, you gotta use more oblique kicks. Also, spinning back kicks, he doesn’t use that as much as the obliques, but he still sneaks them in.
@@iamcool8835 Its funny cuz I searched his JJ videos just because I thought he'd be using his elbows more. I was hoping to see a repeat of the Reshad fight lmao
You also need to do more signature moves that Jon Jones does in real life. The spinning elbow when close to the opponent... the flying knee, glut-kicks, the 6-12 elbow. Very fun to use Jones once you use him the right way
Ya man uppercut his knees this nigga sound like mike parrys ex girl like thow that kick i showed you....brake his leg lol......uppercut them knees man then let him get inside you.....
SicFromTheKush Osp was 25 minutes of domination and he outstruck the DC in the 2nd fight. Alot of people had Jon winning the fight + He finished him. So no. Definitely the Gus fight
Edgie Braahhh I dont know about the total numbers, but no. DC hit him hard like 4 times with body head combos compared to JBJ was landing a body kick. So no. DC outstruck him
a move i like to do with jon jones when someone is throwing boxing combos on me is a 6 to 12 elbow to the 360 elbow. you can tie the two together and it fires off super fast. it drops your opponent almost every time but you'll get a rock at the least.
People making steroid jokes and eye poke jokes don't understand that the dirtiest cheater in the world (Brock lesnar) is about to fight D.C and they would love to see that fight, also jones skill wasn't only because of the PEDS, of course it improves skill but jones had that skill on his own and will always be the GOAT like him or not.
Nepe king That's the most hilarious part about the whole thing. Not only has Brock not earned a title shot, but he's a proven cheater and DC is gladly gonna fight him.
Martial Mind and DC will glady fight jon usada jones too so dont talk bs. Brock is a cheater but atleast he will be clean when they fight and jones proved 2 times that he is too scared to fight DC clean
Exactly makes no sense, he is so paranoid about jones using, but takes the fight with brock, straight away. Brock is a huge money man for the UFC so he gets the what I call "Dana treatment" lmao.
Always found that even though you can't throw boxing combos on the inside with bigger fighters, it's easy enough to just block 2 or 3 strikes followed by a single planted hook or uppercut counter. Typically stuns your opponent enough for you to lunge back and follow up.
You gotta change levels with Jones. He goes after the body to open up the head so he can unleash the KO kick or spinning back elbow. Buy you really need to take him down and rain down elbows. That's how I use Bones in this game
I'm still sad Rumble and Jones never fought it would have been Jones real test. A Juco champ anti wrestler who would just bull rush his way through everything you threw at him and just finish you standing.
Edgie Braahhh That 8 minutes of stand up is unsurvivable Gus couldn't do it and his defensive standup is better than Jones, DC didn't do anything to Rumble until Rumble chose to go to the ground with him. Has great takedown defense and Jones does get hit which isn't an option against Rumble at all. He's also the "bigger" and stronger guy, he's only punching up a little and Jones reach isn't as big of a factor like with Gus. We've also never seen his actual sub defense all of his sub losses are Rear Nakeds. Not saying he beats Jones just that he's a definite problem but if he can deal with Rumble he has no reason to be afraid of Heavyweights like at all.
Romero XVII Rumble first fight lands a knockdown thinking he'd rung DC's Bell and looking for the TKO he jumped on top and DC recovered then proceeded to pick him apart from bottom and eventually get the reversal where he wore him out with his top game. Only after that was DC able to get takedowns on Rumble so yes it only ever went to the ground because he chose for it to as before that Rumble was fresh and had already denied 2 of his takedowns and still denied one after being gassed from DC's top game. Fight 2 he consistently denies DC's takedowns, beats him striking, breaks DC's nose and yet in the second round he decides to attempt a takedown on an Olympian. Both fights he lost because he chose to go to the ground. He still has one of the best takedown defense ratings in MMA and he's fought in 4 different weight divisions with some. Yet before his first fight with DC he'd only been taken down five times and that was his 24th fight. Against DC the Olympic wrestler the fight only went to the ground because he wanted it to at some point.
I feel like you covered a certain aspect of jones. I feel like in order to truly be effective you have to also mix in his flashy moves like question mark kick or spinning attacks, kicks, elbows, fists etc. great vid man, felt close to a real jones fight
Don't box at boxing range. Use knees, elbows, uppercuts, grappling, oblique kicks, lead body hooks, keep range at all times. It would be easier to play him if the game mechanics were more realistic. Straights and jabs lack power.
When using Jon Jones online I’m really good and have not lost with him once, u have to be a tactical striker and target the head while being very aggressive, use many head kicks, lots of over powerful overhand punches. A combo that works really well is holding l1 and then tapping both punch buttons, with his long arms it’s hard to block, I have probably won 90% of the fights with Jon by first round knockout
A tip if u dont mind... if u set up low leg kicks then body shots..it'll make ya opponent block low which sets up quick jabs, strong hooks and high leg kicks for potential rocks or knockouts. But its a grind of manipulation for 3 to 5 rounds.
When they get on the inside and try to trade throw the stationary 6-12 elbow followed by spinning back elbow. It’s an instant KD and makes guys back up and be less willing to trade
This one was awesome MM! I have enjoyed most of your videos and this one even more! So cool to watch you figure him out, execute your plan and see the strength of Jones come to life! Hope we get to see more Jones against a variety of fighters!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. ive been trying to figure out jones for sooo long this video helps ages!. one tip i learned for cruz is use him as a distance fighter and play by points using jabs and straights. love the vids martial keep it up!
You should use more oblique kicks, the front side kick and the push kicks to the body, they help keep the distance and I like using the 12 to 6 lead elbow to catch them as they close the distance. The knees are good to work their body down as well. Good video, pal!
This is almost certainly a stupid question, but when you're trying to deny a cage takedown, it's R2 + down, not R2 + away (direction of the takedown on their hud), right?
The reason jones focused on the body against DC is so he would slip up. He noticed how he leans to the left and mentioned it in the press conference, DC said he won't catch him leaning left, so he focused on the body until DC slipped up and Jones knocked him out with a head kick.
If you are in south paw stance, throw more left hooks. It is your power body shot and was open a lot of the fight, but rarely used. Gave you your knockout in both fights, but seemed underutilized.
reason he goes to the body is to reinforce dc's bad habits aka dipping his head to the side and dropping hands trying to catch that body kick, dc dipped his head to the side and tried to catch the kick to the body, but instead of going to the body that one time jon went upstairs and caught him clean
You have a tendency to go into boxing range after you throw your combinations. With Jones you have to back out otherwise you smother your next attack and leave yourself open. Fight from the outside and when they close the distance grapple.
theres a gargantuan spider in my room, i shit you not, i looked down at my computer for 0.25 of a second and its gone, went from a wall to roof corner to gone in a quarter of a second....
I had the same issue with JJ earlier in UFC 3. When I do use him now though, it's an elbow and knee storm lol. I utilize elbows into the beginnings of combos and also use the Thai plum to hit them with strikes. He's very lanky, but that just adds another dimension of striking.
I really wish I had a big RUclips channel to show off how i been picking apart ppl as Kimbo Slice , I really like to use the style we all remember from his underground days! 🐐 That being said I enjoy all your content but this video was one of your best ever , keep it up bro huge fan 🤙🤙
Jon focused to the body in his recent fight with DC was because he wanted to set up the head kick because DC has a tendency to hunch down trying to go for the single leg when opponents throw body kicks so he baited him by throwing a lot of throw away body shots to set up the head kick and his game plan worked too a T. Jon more often then not focuses primarily on staying on the outside and avoiding throwing close range strikes when people come in close on Jon he clinches up and beats them up inside.
Everyone making steroid jokes is so original, no one has ever heard a steroid joke about Jon Jones yet. Good job, you guys are so original and hilarious!
It's crazy to see how lower division players are more aggressive and spam combos, whereas upper division players are more calm and methodical with their moves.
Man I'm so hyped! I feel you, so happy for you too! Have a nice night and by the way try using Jones like this on Undisputed 3 it's just as fun! I think you'll be able to abuse the spins once you get really settled using him amazing video I'm gonna try it myself.
I'm still having issues using Cruz too. I played against someone who had it close as anyone has gotten and I managed to still win with an uppercut combo
there was a reason he was attacking the body in the last fight with cormier tho.. didnt u see the fight? it was all part of setting up that high kick, which cormier leaned into because he was expecting a body kick.. it wasnt just to pick at his body and the gas tank, it was because he knew dc leans his head to the side when hes defending kicks. he even commented on it, they both did. DC said he knew what jon was talking about and he wasnt going to able to catch him like that. which is exactly what he did.
Jones is a little rough to use if you don't know all his moves. Pick 2 or 3 combos based on speed a 2 based on power. Use knees and elbows close range and work the legs to make the takedowns easier so you can get the TD at will
Jones has so many methods to keeping your opponents guessing. Learning to utilize them is very difficult if you don't understand fighting. Ortiz is a great counter to fighting Jones. forget DC. Ortiz has better ground in pound
Ironically you sound like Daniel Cormier..
Bass Red said the same shit!
NO HE DOESNT YOU ALL ARE RACIST All 106 OF YOU
Mountain Ish You’re an idiot and totally wrong.
If he sounds like Dc... than DJ sound like TJ
Mountain Ish wtf are you talking about thats defenitly not true there is No racism in ufc and he sounds like dc thats just a fact
You aren't using Jons elbows and obliques enough especially when in the pocket its best to throw some elbows instead of punches
I'm still working on it. I don't like the obliques and the elbows are meh to me. But i'm working on it.
Martial Mind The obliques are very effective
Yeah he doesn't know Jones elbow combos in this game are unique in this game just go back to the set
kief yet hes still body you 10/10 times 😂
Hed
Watching your opponent's body meter slowly tick down then repeatedly start flashing is really satisfying.
I think when you are on the inside you need to use elbows and clinch to use him effectively
Jon also likes to back people up to the cage.
Actually the best way to use jones is spam the eye pokes.
cris 14 get over it
I’d say Alexander Gustafson was Jon’s hardest fight. In my opinion
Marlow Forever
Hands down.
Marlow Forever I would say drugs and bad life style generally
Marlow Forever only because he eventually finished DC. Otherwise The second DC fight he was getting slapped around
SicFromTheKush no Jon was setting that kick up the whole fight just rewatch it. Jon wanted those engagements with dc to get dc comfortable and bang
Ja Herra not funny, btw what are you doing with your life?
Sometimes I prefer to watch martial play over playing this game myself... when this game is played properly it is absolutely beautiful
MBFX I really appreciate that man. Thank you.
I want to play against martial
Kyle Allen he’s the one person I wouldn’t mind getting my ass whooped by 😂
Martial hid his PS4 under the octagon while he was recording.
Chris Tsang How do I like a comment more than once
Chris Tsang I’m sorry I’m dumb, I don’t understand
Scott Aebersold because he hid from a drug test under the octagon in his gym lol
Lol yeah he was hiding from usada
These man actually believe a word that come from chael sonnens mouth hahah
Also I praaaaayyyyyyyyy they add Israel Adesanya soon!
Louis Bellocchi Brock Lesnar
They need add him sugar o malley and zabit.
Also Lando Vannata would be nice even tho he lost his last few fights the dude has skills and he is entertaining every single time
Also Tai Tuivasa. He reminds me of a younger version of Mark Hunt
Fucking best comment I’ve seen

Here we can easily spot the fake glovers

Aneas Henricks if people don't like it then they need to get better.
suckswithpivot I agree but you know how it is
I agree it was only cheese in ufc 2 with the lunging kick to the body bs
Everything Jon does is cheese lol
I’m sad at the wasted potential every time I think of Jon Jones. He was the most exciting MMA fighter in the world to watch IMO. Now he’s in disgrace having to watch Daniel Cormier achieve and become everything that Jones wanted to become. 21Bravo Punk Love how everyone forgets the eye pokes DC gave to Stipe
MrSuperchacho77 it happens man. And sure, it was sloppy, but I don’t believe it was part of an intentional strategy to try and cheat Miocic.
21Bravo Punk who throws punches with their fingers extended
MrSuperchacho77 someone who wants broken fingers I guess. His fingers weren’t extended when Stipe folded up like a deck chair.
MrSuperchacho77 someone with a short reach. Add in that Cormier is a grappler so if he can’t land his shots he’s looking to grab the opponent. This is entirely different to Jones having around ten inches in reach over everyone and seemingly poking them regardless.
You seem to do a single or double hook to the body followed by a knee and then the first start of your body sequence is always a hook
I use him by staying at kicking distance side kick the leg and body when he’s close with some knees face combo is jab spin back first and keep range
julie nowlin cheese af
julie nowlin facts
best way to use him
Valder Socio get better
Jab+backfist is the cheesest combo and works for every fighter.
You also disregarded jones has the two way oblique kick bro
He needs the PEDs perk for him too be useable bruh
All he needs to wipe the floor with DC is hookers and blow.
true. You need cheats to be able to use him
Buckeye Derrick and steroids
Eye pokes guys you just use eye pokes
No he needs to be able to throw a left high kick against someone who has a tendency to lower his right arm
In the land of DC I'm proud of you man you did it. Great video bro also respect for giving Jon's another try.
Darcon Corp should've used the push off move
The Answer he does have the rear push kick. But I've learned how to use the rear body hook more efficiently. I use the lead but the rear from southpaw. Does major damage!
I just wish they had razor elbows like the last one. The elbows don’t really feel as powerful and dangerous like they were on ufc 2.
Jacori Ervin I want the old elbow animations back in general
I get clean knock outs with elbows all the time u just have to use muy Thai people I recommend Darren till or gaetje
Fidel Castro sometimes the lead elbow doesn’t hit at all though. I’d have to switch stances sometimes. But the animation from the last one was a bit better for me.
Jacori Ervin Yeah elbow animations are terrible in this one, they just feel weird. UFC 2 had better elbows I agree
The rear elbow is okay, and can be combo'd if you're using a Muay Thai fighter, but the lead elbow has no range whatsoever and is absolutely useless.
Makes sense.... I thought Jones was a shirty boxer but actually he is vulnerable on the inside with shorter fighters
You you watch Jon, he also constantly is landing oblique kicks. If your really trying to mimic Jon, you gotta use more oblique kicks. Also, spinning back kicks, he doesn’t use that as much as the obliques, but he still sneaks them in.
“I really don’t know who won that first round”
Meanwhile: Jon Jones eating every punch in round 1
In real life, Jon is awesome in close. He fought in a phone booth against Glover Texiera using Muay Thai elbows, uppercuts and spinning elbows.
JudahOwen That is still my favorite Jon Jones fight. That's the fight that showed me Jon Jones can ACTUALLY fight. So impressive.
I don’t like how they took the damage meter away
A few thai clinches in there for the mix, and the fights would go just smooth
You need to learn more Elbow combinations you disregard it completely go back to training and you find out he has unique elbow sets
Joshua Abimiku Yes he needs to address this, I don't know why he hasn't even bothered to look at the stats of his favorite fighter.

Ari Augustine Jon Jones doesn't use those flashy techniques against truly aggressive opponents like DC. I fought here like Jones fought DC.

Jon Jones needs to get back into the octagon against Brock lesner
You should use more oblique kicks, the front side kick and the push kicks to the body, they help keep the distance and I like using the 12 to 6 lead elbow to catch them as they close the distance. The knees are good to work their body down as well. Good video, pal!
"Im really going to try to mimic the tactics jon uses" I didn't no they added the eyepoke into the game
This is almost certainly a stupid question, but when you're trying to deny a cage takedown, it's R2 + down, not R2 + away (direction of the takedown on their hud), right?
I think Jon Jones has a lot of different weapons it's hard to just use one his elbows his jab his reach his Muay Thai
The reason jones focused on the body against DC is so he would slip up. He noticed how he leans to the left and mentioned it in the press conference, DC said he won't catch him leaning left, so he focused on the body until DC slipped up and Jones knocked him out with a head kick.
Watching Jon Jones really makes me wish Adesanya was in the game
He is
If you are in south paw stance, throw more left hooks. It is your power body shot and was open a lot of the fight, but rarely used. Gave you your knockout in both fights, but seemed underutilized.
I just rewatched their second fight. It was actually more oblique kicks than anything.
use oblique kicks
Imo you should also utilize Jones’s Side kicks more, he’s such a long fighter irl that they’re vital especially the oblique and side kick to the leg.
EA need to add eye poke to make JJ Overpowered...
reason he goes to the body is to reinforce dc's bad habits aka dipping his head to the side and dropping hands trying to catch that body kick, dc dipped his head to the side and tried to catch the kick to the body, but instead of going to the body that one time jon went upstairs and caught him clean

theres a gargantuan spider in my room, i shit you not, i looked down at my computer for 0.25 of a second and its gone, went from a wall to roof corner to gone in a quarter of a second....
from what i remember Jones use more clinches and then knees, elbows, foot stomping, eye poking
Great vid I constantly pressure when i use him. I also make sure to match the volume of punches i throw with kicks. Tell ea to update his model
Every SINGLE time I catch a kick and take someone down it starts over like it did with you it’s some bullshit lol
I cringe every time I see Jon Jones fight because all I think about his damn toe 😂
How do you guys deal with forward pressure? That's one of the things I struggle with the most. All tips are appreciated!
Ain't Jones a south paw fighter
If you’re supposed to be an expert on this game , how come u just learned how to use one of the best fighters... its not that hard to figure out
I'm not an expert.
license2breal who said he's an expert???
I appreciate how much thought you put into your fighting and videos, keep it up, greetings from Germany ❤️
His name is bones Jones for a reason, when dc gets inside elbows and knees to the body are crucial.
Each throw one jab a piece "WHAT A WILD EXCHANGE"
I had the same issue with JJ earlier in UFC 3. When I do use him now though, it's an elbow and knee storm lol. I utilize elbows into the beginnings of combos and also use the Thai plum to hit them with strikes. He's very lanky, but that just adds another dimension of striking.

Spinning elbows work great for pressure fighters work well in boxing range combos as well
Jon focused to the body in his recent fight with DC was because he wanted to set up the head kick because DC has a tendency to hunch down trying to go for the single leg when opponents throw body kicks so he baited him by throwing a lot of throw away body shots to set up the head kick and his game plan worked too a T.
Jon more often then not focuses primarily on staying on the outside and avoiding throwing close range strikes when people come in close on Jon he clinches up and beats them up inside.
When I use him I am grappling based same with Rockhold by the way you should do featured fighters or that tall fighter thing
JT 360Gamer bro meet me UFC 3
real lamar yo I'm not near my ps4 but for future reference what is your gamer tag mine is kingofchaos
You need to use the clinch and takedowns and submissions, they're a big part of Jones' game
Everyone making steroid jokes is so original, no one has ever heard a steroid joke about Jon Jones yet. Good job, you guys are so original and hilarious!
You forget his elbows, You can use its from inside 6 to 12 elbow and follow with spinning elbow
It's crazy to see how lower division players are more aggressive and spam combos, whereas upper division players are more calm and methodical with their moves.
Jon Jones is a grappler? Not complaining because his stand up is good as well but I would make him a striker in the game. That’s just me tho.
Man I'm so hyped! I feel you, so happy for you too! Have a nice night and by the way try using Jones like this on Undisputed 3 it's just as fun! I think you'll be able to abuse the spins once you get really settled using him amazing video I'm gonna try it myself.
Need to use knees more when you're in close. Wait till he finishes his combo then a body knee 3/4 of those and hes hunched over
To complete ur use of John jones and I seriously consider using his rear roundhouse kick
This was really fun! I look forward to seeing what you can do with Cruz!
Try to use elbows while DC is throwing hooks inside. If u time an elbow right before a hook its really nice
use kicks to create the distance to capitalise on the reach advantage.
That kick at 11 11 by Cormier even hurt me such a powerful kick
'fairly good round not sure who won that one'
lmao bruh you god slapped up
I'm still having issues using Cruz too. I played against someone who had it close as anyone has gotten and I managed to still win with an uppercut combo
How do i deal with people who don't back up and just keep coming at me with everything breaking my block?
there was a reason he was attacking the body in the last fight with cormier tho.. didnt u see the fight? it was all part of setting up that high kick, which cormier leaned into because he was expecting a body kick.. it wasnt just to pick at his body and the gas tank, it was because he knew dc leans his head to the side when hes defending kicks. he even commented on it, they both did. DC said he knew what jon was talking about and he wasnt going to able to catch him like that. which is exactly what he did.
Inject a load of trt
DJC _ 👎🏾
Primo Levy truth hurts
Steroids and trt are different things
leafyishere filthyfrank he was masking trt with turnabol
Beautiful first fight gonna try out this strat when I get on
Jones is a little rough to use if you don't know all his moves. Pick 2 or 3 combos based on speed a 2 based on power. Use knees and elbows close range and work the legs to make the takedowns easier so you can get the TD at will
and don't forget to use his side kicks to the legs and body to create distance
Jones has so many methods to keeping your opponents guessing. Learning to utilize them is very difficult if you don't understand fighting. Ortiz is a great counter to fighting Jones. forget DC. Ortiz has better ground in pound
John Jones is built like he skipped every leg day
