Another cool piece of uncovered local history, sir! Since no one else answered your question about the gliwing rocks, I had to search it. And this what I found: "In most cases, calcite crystals will glow orange, yellow, white, and green. Occasionally calcite crystals glow blue, red, and pink." Seems plausible. Keep "em coming Scott!
In my research, that is what I came up with also. It makes sense, the entire walls were covered in both Calcite and Sulphur and combinations of the two. In which ORANGE makes total sense. But... I figured they may also be a Speleo out there or a Geologist who can point out if it is that or bacterial... or even nuclear, like Green Glass/Vaseline Glass (which contains Uranium).
Glad you think so! I try to do stuff over the top... then look at it an think it is garbage... then look at similar videos and realize it is less garbage than others and they have a whole team working on their videos. My goal is 1. get you to the site, 2. give you the factually researched background, 3. identify myth, stories, misnomers that are popular, 4. give you the grand tour (or at least the best highlights because people seem to only have a watch window of no longer than 40 mins). Your compliment means a lot.
I love caves and caverns too. This one was spectacular with its "raw" feeling, and it was also extremely humid (about 120% humidity) at a balmy 52-55 degrees. Like stepping back into prehistoric times (both literally and figuratively)
Well, unless you are in your 70's... we will NOT discuss nor disclose if you were or were not in this cave through the now sealed tight secret entrance renown as a vandals entrance. ;) It really is a spectacular cave.
I thought that thumbnail was the Playboy Bunny in a cave at first, I said well Scott has finally learned how to make the big money on these interwebs lol. Awesome cave and cool backstory.
If I could do anything different... I would get more time in the cave and bring about 5 more of my high powered lights in order to focally capture the displays in this cave and bring them to life.
So the comment of 675 feet only details the length of walkability. There were a ton of side channels, more holes leading downward, lots of exotic shafts in all different directions, and a lot of 2 foot high crawl spaces. I figure if I went out as a spelo/geolo I would need DAYS to see all the spots in this cave.
@@ODDySEEy It’s not much but hope it helps! My science teacher in high school 25 years ago had color slides from the 50s with the dramatic commercial cave lighting. It’s too bad those aren’t also somewhere on a more public record. But thankfully guys like you are helping keep these places in the know.
Another channel wanting money to show you the best of their content.... I am sorry but I can't pay anything extra to become a 'member' but would have watched every second of the cave video! Oh well, I wish you well anyways & have always liked your content!
Thanks for watching! Sorry you believe that my time and effort are not worth anything… fortunately, I do not ask for compensation for that… I give that for FREE. What I do seek is assistance to finance things such as gas and entrance fees to certain sites. You watching every second gives me a gain of approximately $0.01 cent for every RUclips advertisement you do not skip. That’s approximately 2 whole cents for every advertisement you do not skip (you don’t skip, do you?) I am sorry to see another person leave my channel because they think they are somehow deserving of free content and more so that they think their words make them less of an idiot when they exercise their First Amendment. @@ODDySEEy I didn't say I was leaving the channel - not to even mention I did wish you well & said I like your content! I just wanted some channels to understand that not everyone can pay for 'extras' . I do understand that you work very hard to put out the videos (& all the work before & after each video)! I find the subject & content of your videos fascinating! Sharing your videos to help your channel grow should count for something.... I am sorry - I realize that my first sentence did sound nasty, but I really didn't mean it to be (yes, my brain didn't think things thru BEFORE posting)!! Once again, I hope things continue to do well for you. Thank you for everything & once again - sorry.
I want a sinkhole to open up in my backyard with a cave underneath to explore.
Yup... I do too. AND... I want a culvert under my house and even maybe some of PA's Robin Hood's treasure :D
Hey Scott, Great video. Really enjoy the history you bring to each video. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it. Great cave.

One of the best videos on RUclips Scott! 😄

You did it! Awesome!!
And it was all thanks to you mentioning it. (which was followed by a dozen other messages within the next couple of weeks).
@@ODDySEEy Glad to hear others had interest in this as well. Will be interesting to see what the future holds for the cave.
Very cool ! This is going on my bucket list. ..
It was fun because you get dirty :D
wow!! love the formations! I had no idea about this at all! Thanks for the info!
Jim... most people in these area's no nothing about these sites either. That is part of the charm of the channel. :)
@@ODDySEEy most definitely is the charm for sure!! thanks again Scott!
We should have visited this cave with the geology department at Penn State!
This is very interesting thank you for sharing this with us !
Glad you enjoyed it
How cool! My friends live on Hager Rd less than 2 miles from there. We will have to go check it out!
Visit their Facebook page
Never heard of this and I live 10 mins from Williamson. Will have to check it out
It is spectacular (but be aware, quite humid as well)
Man… haven’t been in my local public caves for years.. this vid rekindled my interest… great video.. as usual..

@@ODDySEEy not your video cave.. which was awesome.. my local cave be the caverns up Uniontown mountains.. have a great night..
Lived in this house in the early 70s
Thanks for keeping it well preserved.
I am going to see this cavern system in 2022... DEFINITELY!!!
It is beautiful because it is still raw.
Sorry I missed this explore!! What an awesome caving experience.
You were not there, but I brought home the mud.
I thought that thumbnail was the Playboy Bunny in a cave at first, I said well Scott has finally learned how to make the big money on these interwebs lol. Awesome cave and cool backstory.
Up next on Scott's ODDySEEy... Cave based "OnlyFans". ;)
Beautiful caves!

@@ODDySEEy too bad they don’t have the caves open for tours.
Ah, geology, now there's a subject you truly have to be a nerd to be in love with.
he he... *snort*...hehe... *pushes glasses up his nose* I love me some rocks.
Thanks! I'm a proud nerd!
Nice scott, that cave seemed endless

Nice place to cool off when it's hot
No, no... not this one. It was rather wet and muggy. MUCH warmer than any other I had ever been in so far (in PA).
It's got some pretty colors for a xavaern
The colors were magnificent. And the amount of fluorescence was equally crazy.
Scott I sent you a donation via PayPal, hope you received. Love your content!
Thank you sooooo much for the donation. It goes a long way to covering getting to some of these sites.

Makes for the ultimate mancave
That was my FIRST thought... but let me tell you, it is a cool 52 degress, but about 120% humidity. It is drowning damp.
I bet black coffey caverns is better with a cup of coffee
YES!
