TFW and Northern both run Chester to Piccadilly services, but take different routes. The TFW trains run via Helsby, Warrington Bank Quay and the Chat Moss line so they enter Piccadilly from the Oxford Road side, the Northern services come in on the mid-Cheshire line via Altrincham and Stockport and enter Piccadilly from this side as you see in the video.
When I first looked on RealTimeTrains I couldn't quite make heads or tails of some of the things I was looking at which probably explains why I was so confused
Excellent video, although it does demonstrate what train-spotting has become these days: A procession of multiple units all day long. When a 153 garners the most excitement of the entire video, what a sorry state the railways are in from an enthusiast's perspective. I can remember standing on Ardwick in the late 70s and early 80s. You'd see 24s, 25s, 37s, 40s galore... 506 units to Hadfield. You'd see 47s, 50s, 81, 82, 83,84, 85s and 86s. You'd even see the occasional 76.... but if you went over to Penistone, or Deepcar you'd see 76s working coal all day long. What happened :( You'd think I'm some really old guy right? No... I've just turned 50: That's how quickly we got to here. I'll be going over to York soon to catch some class 91 action before they disappear too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are 91s the last British built frontline revenue earning passenger service locomotive left? Sad :(
I have to admit I would have loved to have been around when we had proper traction running around the country, I remember on the WCML when it was 86, 87, 90 and HST's running around with NSE class 321's on the commuter runs, just wish I was old enough to have done some filming before it all changed, I think you're right about the 91's
@@Tornado922 A great shame. I'm just glad I spent my youth hanging out of Mk1 door windows while being hauled by class 40s between Victoria and Blackpool :)
Hi mate another great video mate it has been a long time since I have been in Manchester it is great the trains around Manchester again keep up the great work mate stay safe and well mate goodbye for now clive
Pacers are still safe. I see a Ardwick depot is where they keep TPE at the depot near the station. I think the Northern Rail 323s have all full liveries, and you don't like Manchester City, what team did you support?
Your videos are my favourite of all the trainspotters, especially when my local service passes through ardwick!
That's very kind of you to say so :)

Yes goat lovely foliage for weeds!!
I hope to see you back at Lime Street again for those Class 68s there. Might be an issue though given Liverpool is in Tier 3. Great video as always.
I will be going back there at some stage but I don't know when that will be
Brilliant video again Tornado, great view and types of trains running through.
Thanks very much, this was a great station to go to
Fantastic video, friend... I loved seeing all those trains. The pacer bouncing around made me giggle lol. Thanks as always (Jordan)
Thanks very much mate, I had a great time going to this station. I will definitely come back here
When will Avanti West Coast get all the 390 sets in full livery?
@Trains with Joshua It has absolutely nothing to do with that.
@@kentrailspotter5046 it also depends on if there is a space for the 390s to be kept and wrapped if not then nothing will happen really
Avanti West Coast will keep the pendolinos white until they get enough money
@@nathansrailwayphotography8125 They had enough cash to put one of them in a silly face mask livery ibb.co/dGbpHDS :)
..actually I thought it was pretty cool.
Tornado is a must watch for me, great stuff Tornado.
Thank you kindly!

Imagine going from Manchester to Peterborough in a 153?? LOL. I'd want my money back!
The 153 would have come off at Nottingham. These services are usually 4 coaches but only the rear 2 work to Norwich as it reverses at Sheffield.
