- After many years of there been no rail link to Leek from Stoke Station, finall we have forward movement and planning to reconnect the two Towns, footage taken from a DJI Mini2, shot in 4K
The reopening of this line is long overdue. To take the load off the A53 A5009. If the Leek end could include a connection to the Churnet Valley line it would also give a popular tourist attraction a connection to the main network and more visitors spending their money locally.
As far as I’m aware it is linking with churnet valley. I’m due to cover this as an update as soon as the weather picks up a bit…..
@@urbanmediauk I shall look forward to seeing it. I am a passionate supporter for reopening railway lines. I have fond memories of travelling the old Stoke loop line. A wonderful asset it would be today cutting down traffic most of which are on short commuter journeys.
@@neilbaldwin592 I agree, far too
Many lines have been disabled that could be a massive asset.
@@urbanmediaukyes, it should do there’s a sliding on the line but it’s overgrown. Here in Endon they started to cut back but now it’s growing back
@@willb19 there will be an update over the coming weeks so please make sure you have the notifications enabled. Thanks for your comments.
Is stoke a popular destination for Leeks.
There used to be a rail
Link between leek and stoke for many years, since the demise and decommissioned track back in 1956, the original track lines are still there and in the process of rebuilt… there will be an update soon.
Stupid special effects spoilt it
This was one of my very first video edits, the quality has come a long way since then, check out some of my most recent edits. Thank you for your comments.
This rather trite video has nothing to do with a Stoke to Leek rail link.
@@tominnis8353 this was produced int he summer of 2022. When talks were still taking place to reinstate the Leek -Stoke line, all the foilage at endon side of the line was cleared away, not long after this footage went live, the decision to not continue with the Stoke -Leek reconnection was shelved. Recently the line from churnet to Leek as been reinstated by Churnet Valley Rail, please take a look at the recent uploaded footage. Thanks for your comments, be sure to sub and hit the notification Bell as not to miss anything.
@urbanmediauk Thank you for your explanation.
