I still don't understand how Soto is valued so much higher than a guy like Tucker.. Minus walks, Soto and Tucker have very comparable career numbers, with Tucker being better defensively and way more SB.. To be honest, I would rather have Tucker than Soto..
It would be like when the Brewers made Corbin Burnes go to arbitration. That made sure the Brewers were screwed at extending him. The Jays pulled their asses out of the fire…for now.
Jim, I like you but you cannot be this uninformed. A 500k difference during the early years of arbitration could mean millions more in the last year of arbitration. If the Card, for example, agree to sign Donovan for 3.3M in his first year of arbitration, the second could move up to 8M and his last up to 15M or more. If they sign him for 2.8M, his second could be in the 6.5M range and his last about 12M. That extra $500k could mean an extra $6M or more. Personally, I will be on the player's side, but you have to understand why teams do it. They're not just trying to save $500k, they're trying to save a lot more.

Why TF would the Cubs start the relationship off with Tucker like this!!!! 😮😢
Crazy
Mmm mma Mets
Because they are the cubs
Because they are incompetent
I really hope the jays sign vladdy
Damn, Red Sox are really taking Duran for 500k?! wtf Thats just horseshit. He was a top 10 hitter last year.
Glad that the Blue Jays avoided arbitration with Vlad! That at least keeps negotiations open for an extension.
I'm not very optimistic, though.
One of the reasons Tuck didn't agree on an extension with the Astros was they screwed him in arbitration.
what did shuan do!
Can’t believe the cubs. Over tucker what a way to piss off him off give him the 2.5m extra he’s asking for
Cubs so God Damn cheap. Makes me sick

The Brewers were never going to resign Burnes.
@ Probably df their way to make sure of it.
