Question for the Doctor: have you ever been invited to speak at health fairs or at churches? I think this would be a great opportunity, as your schedule permits, to speak directly to the public on the importance of caring for the feet. Or, you can tape a full seminar DVD to share with the public discussing:
-what signs of foot problems to look for
    -diabetic foot care
-how to care for the feet at home
-when one should see the podiatrist.
I have learned so much just from these video clips. Thank you SO much for the care you are giving to our patients, and the information shared!

I love the fact you aren’t afraid to use nippers to get some of the build up off. I see a lot of podiatrists try to cut through that rock hard layer and slip and get so close to cutting people so often. And it is all avoidable by just nipping the top layer off.

Y'all have to understand....what we think should be done, what the doctor knows should be done, and what the patient wants and can tolerate are different things. That man's feet got that way over time. It's going to take time. Sometimes health care professionals have do do what they can within the patients allowance. That patient can't see past right now. His mind isn't on how he got that way. His mind is not on maintenance or preventive measures. His mind is on do something now and make it quick. He is not use to anyone touching his feet. Sometimes light touches or vibrations can hurt more than hard pressure.
I have an able bodied friend that still works and gets around. I wanted to chop off his feet this past weekend. I told him he didn't deserve feet from the way they were looking. He went in the hospital for hip surgery. Everything went well.
But like I told you.... I felt the urge to just cut off his feet myself. He is in the hospital with fungus for days, black toes, diabetic ulcers, and gawd knows what else. I was pissed!!!! I use to keep up his feet several years ago. Now they look more throwed off than I've ever seen. He didn't want me to show the nursing staff. Man....I will punch you in your eye
...I'm telling!!!! So...I told!!!! Diabetics can't be trusted y'all. Don't trust them. Look at their feet and toes. Diabetics are good at hiding stuff. Don't let them fool you!!!!! This one caught me slipping.
Pssst...don't punch a diabetic in the eye. They don't heal well...
Plus it's mean! Even though they deserve it for not talking care of themselves....don't sock em in the eye!!!!

That’s exactly what it is. Lots of folk don’t quite get the amount of work that can be done at one sitting. In lots of cases it can take a lot longer to treat someone depending on their tolerance.
You’ve summed up perfectly about hiding things. So many just wont tell anyone there’s an issue. Sadly sometimes by the time that some admit to problems the outcome can be catastrophic
