One of my all time favorite cartoons ever. The story - the animation - the music - the style- the direction. This one cartoon has it all. Also the animation pre-dates THE FLINTSTONES in design - the "sun", the inferno dinosaur acting a bit like "Dino", etc. I can't stop watching & re-watching this brilliant cartoon. Thanks for posting!
"Dante" was named for animator Dante Barbetta, who worked at the studio through the mid-1960's. Al Eugster was the other animator on this one. Isadore Sparber directed this; Jack "Popeye" Mercer wrote it; Winston Sharples composed and conducted the score [parts of it were reused in Casper's "Good Scream Fun", later that year]
It was..at least last..the music was ALL OVER Felix (I have on episode, "Magnetic Ray", with Professor and Rock using a metal bottle in the magic for magnetize it, and that chase music at 400 near the end is used there. That piece later in Good Scream Fun were ALL OVER the Oriolo Felix. Good Scream Fun AND Dawg Gawn, the last Little Audrfey, in turn, used Casper's Ice Scream music..
Holy sh....the mom at ending...when she turns around only half her body change direction but her legs are stationary! How is that for stylized animation??

Neither have I. Brings back memories. They start showing cartoons more on CHANNELS 5,9, 11 LIKE they used to.
Last time I saw this was on Boomerang between 2004-2005.
