Hey Kyle, can we just baking soda & super glue the original gill tail slot and achieve a less fragile tail section? I'll ask this on the private crew chat as well, but wanted the public to know if this hack could be beneficial!
I think the bad rap that other species gets is from the let down when guys are tourney fishing. Can't tell you how many huge pike I have caught when targeting a kicker largie once I have a good limit. It is HEARTBREAKING 💔 But there are some tourneys (like on the Potomac) where some directors have made a side pot for things like snakehead or catfish. That makes multi species catches WAY more fun. If you are just out to get your lure smashed and line tugged, there are plenty of awesome BIG predators to give you the adrenaline rush! I remember a huge drum catch as a kid that stood as my all species PB for well over a decade!!!
So apparently I'm gonna blow up this comment section before anyone else has a chance. But the herring colors out here on the east coast are an absolute must. I'll PM you some picks to match up Kyle!
I think that some super glue and baking soda would work, I’d probably tape it off first. Some micro balloons and epoxy would work too I’d think. Herring colors always look sweet. Personally here in the Midwest I think perch patterns a little underrated. It’s pretty cool with some tournaments that they give some points for by catches
