Taking the chance that this comment falls on blind eyes, I have to admit. I began teaching myself how to play the piano a couple years ago because of this song. It was the first song I had ever learned on the piano. I had loved the original song so much because it gave me goosebumps every second. The harmonies mixed with Matthew Koma's voice so well and I couldn't help but be enthralled. When my son died in October of 2012, I gave this song another special meaning to me when I played it at his funeral. I'll admit it wasn't as smooth and flowing as your presentation, but it was the best I could muster, which wasn't bad, fortunately. This song pulls at a weird piece of me that may sound incredibly ridiculous at first, but it's my emotions, so who's to judge. This song will be a part of me forever, now, whether for good or bad.

The main thing that sets him apart from most of the EDM crowd is that he is a classically trained pianist. The only artist i can think of that has a vaguely similar background off of the top of my head is Skrillex, who was actually a part of a screamo band and lost his voice.
The only ones really using the same complex music theory in their music in the "main" edm scene is Deadmau5 and Zedd, then there is masters like aphex twin and others who are great at it too but just gets too little recognition

Haha, he only makes the music. He doesn't sing. He gets singers to sing to the song. Also, the person singing in "Spectrum" is a guy named Matthew Koma, believe it or not. He's the same guy singing in "Find You", too. Stay the Night and Clarity have female singers of course.
