Hey Guys! Watching "Godzilla" (2014) was an electrifying experience! The film breathed new life into this iconic kaiju, made me a huge fan. I loved the blending jaw-dropping visual effects with a gripping storyline. As the colossal Godzilla clashed with monstrous foes, I was filled with awe and excitement. This reboot honored the legacy of the original 1954 classic (which I still have to watch) while introducing the legendary creature to a new generation. I believe it solidified Godzilla's status as a pop culture titan, reminding us why this behemoth has roared its way into our hearts for decades. Can't wait for the next monster-verse film! Follow along as I catch up on the monster-verse films as Godzilla X Kong The New Empire releases and I definitely want to catch that wave with all of you! So who's your favourite Kaiju? Although it's not a Monsterverse film, WB have repeatedly discussed doing a crossover with Pacific Rim, which you should definitely check out, it's heavily inspired by Godzilla and other Kaiju films. But overall it'll just add to your knowledge of Kaiju lore, and hopefully they will get to do a crossover film between the franchises
Godzilla is unique because he’s a character that can be anything depending on the plot. While Minus One was a remake of the original 1954 film where he was a threat to humanity, Monsterverse Godzilla is more like the character after the 54 film where in the sequels/reboots he became more of a force of nature/hero or anti hero fighting evil monsters that threaten his home, Earth.
Fun little bit of fan information. This Godzilla is the FIRST American made version of the character to be more faithful to the source material. There was another Godzilla film made in 1998, that was only Godzilla in named and iconic roar. Other than that it was hated by toho and all Japan to the point that they bought the character America made only to have the real Godzilla kill it. Also the first release in my local theater of this film, I was there at first showing. When Godzilla's tail starts lighting up and the charge for his atomic breath winds up..... You could have heard myself and the whole theater chanting "yes....... Yes....... Yes!...... YES!!!!". Because again in 98 it really wasn't Godzilla and this version is still a great display for the big guy
One thing I truly loved about this movie was the "tsunami" scene. Out of nearly 50 films, there's maybe two or three that brings up how Gojira's size is so immense that him swimming towards shore displaces so much water that his arrival is literally mistaken for a natural disaster. If you take into account that humans alone displace up to a quart's worth of water every time we hurry out of a pool, and compare the size difference between humans & kaiju, Godzilla's size is so large that the displacement that it could hypothetically cause a mild tsunami.
According to Reddit, Monsterverse Godzilla would displace 164m Litres of water, so 164,000 tonnes of water, which is about the same as a Nimitz Aircraft carrier, however they mainly use buoyance to aid with displacement, so I'd be willing to bet that Godzilla probably displaces at least double that, so 328,000 tonnes of water. Which seems like a lot, but storms and hurricanes can displace billions or trillions of litres of water.
@@reembokreacts Hahah! I knew it! Love it! His blue fire is actually called atomic breath which uses high radiation blast and mondterverse godzilla is mostly neutral in sense of things he keeps monster and territory in check and we r just in his way
A Japanese-take on Godzilla? Uh ... you DO realise Godzilla is a monster that originated in Japan, right? His real name is Gojira, Godzilla is the Westernised name.
Reembok you look way out of place watching such a movie. Seems Romance and Love stories be more your cup of tea. Yet i still find your reaction worth watching great job.
I saw this twice in IMAX. One of my favorites from 2014. The birth of an exciting new universe and the rebirth of an screen icon. This is from director Garth Edwards, Monsters (2010), Rogue One:A Star Wars Story (2016) and 2023's The Creator. Ken Watanabe as Dr. Ishirō Serizawa of the MONARCH organization, revealing to a certain few that Earth wasn't just Man's world. That these ancient beasts aka Titans will rise to challenge each other, Let Them Fight. Bryan Cranston (Joe Brody) is in the film for a little bit but really gives a great performance. Both Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen (pre MCU) play characters trying to maneuver their lives around these unforseen events. It's great how just as the big G was about to hit the 60th Anniversary, they incorporate some kind of real world history, like Godzilla debuted in 1954 (pop culture wise) and in the movie, Godzilla revealed his presence to the modern world before being hit by an atomic weapon. We do get the quintessential Kaiju moments. Not much of a reveal at first (some hated that), but little by little, we see more of the battles build between G and the MUTOs. Mankind going pretty frantic when the impossible happens and nothing can stop it. When it goes down, it goes all the way down . G with his signature moves and some good effects of how these Titans do battle. Establishing that this Lizard-like Apex Predator is indeed King. Keep it going with The Monsterverse, Reem. 4 more to go and all worth the ride.
I've never seen someone yap so much. Like she doesn't ever shut her mouth, even when characters are speaking and dialogue is happening she's just going off.
