from my CD Vaikuntha Mantra (www.theacrudi.com)
OM NAMO NARAYANAYA is a wonderful Mukti Mantra (Mantra that leads to spiritual liberation in Sanskrit) to be repeated again and again.
Na - Ra - Ya - Na: let's explore this mystical word.
Narayana represents the alpha and omega of the universe.
The Vedic seers obtained this four-letter sound in their deep meditations, discovered and understood its profound meaning, and initiated many spiritual seekers with this Mantra to faster their spiritual awakening and union with Narayana.
The sages continue to preserve it for times to come.
These four letters constitute the basic four corners of the foundation stone of the universal temple. In these sacred sounds there is the emergence of the universe and its creation (Ra), its return to itself as a process of transformation (Na) and the cyclic activity of contraction and expansion (Ayana). These passages with the respective sacred sounds in Sanskrit constitute Narayana, which in one word expresses the eternal formation and deformation of the various universes with energies that flow from subtle to gross and from gross to subtle.
The symbol of Narayana is considered the symbol of realization and represented by a sphere. Since it is a sphere, its numerical power is zero. Zero in Sanskrit has two aspects. It's called Poornam, it's also called Soonyam. Poornam means full, Soonyam means nothing (or zero or empty). Whatever is apparently empty, in truth it is potentially full. This is the understanding of the sages. All things come from scratch and return to zero. The void (or zero or nothing) is not actually empty, but it is energy, therefore full.
