Excellent review. I note the additional safety features such as a carbon monoxide alarm as well as a smoke alarm. I would raise on concern that the gas stove is next to the driver’s seat without the benefit of a splash guard to prevent heat and smoke damaging the seat. The addition of a TV would be great but I’m just being pernickety🤗
do you have enough headroom in the back seats, when the roof is down and with the boards in place? i recently sat in one ( not wellhouse) that only had enough headroom for shorter people.
I find if odd that the pop tops on many vans are held down by webbing traps, it clearly works as low tech often does, I'm just surprised there is nothing more modern. Grest reviews as usual
South co catches (metal clamps) are used on some roofs but they tend to squeak with time so most have reverted to the straps. Simple, effective and work well!
Great channel Peter, just subbed. I’m looking for a used camper just for myself, I’m 6ft tall…Budget 12k /14k. What would you recommend? I do like the Alpard, seems value for money compared to a VW. Thanks, regards, Rob.
They look like they would be fab for solo travelling as the bed is pretty narrow for 2 people but otherwise- fab! And they are Toyota! And probably economical enough to use as an everyday vehicle.
I see it’s got a 3 litre V6 petrol engine…great, I bet bet it flies…but how much would the road tax be in the UK ? And I bet the mpg as a daily driver would be horrendous too…18 to 20 mpg is my guess. A very nice vehicle but practical in the UK ? I don’t think so.
it is not a good point at all. These are luxurious Lexus quality cars ( not vans ) that drive like a dream and are incredibly comfortable on long motorway journeys. Most are 2.4 engines and do approximately 30 miles to the gallon. The 3 litre model does a little bit less but is a stunning drive even with a full conversion. As usual, the bigoted British press think German is best but anyone who drives an Alphard will tell you it is the best and most luxurious vehicle that they have ever owned and just as important it is by far the most reliable.
@@slabbyrider8665 The Elgrand is an excellent car as well and a great option. I would say it looks nicer especially at the front but it is not as luxurious and well built and definitely not as reliable as an Alphard.
Unfortunately our DOT and EPA will not allow it. I can drive a giant SUV and that's fine with the EPA, or a motorcycle and that's just dandy, but don't dare drive one of these.
Toyotas do last well, especially if cared for. I have a 2003 Camry (rare in the UK). Not a speck of rust, 88k miles, runs and drives like new. That Alphard appears to have a lot of the same trim and fittings in the drivers compartment.
Very impressed nice all round campervan 👍👍📷📷😁😁🇬🇧

Why would u need a TV these days with Sky mobile, some fones now open up the screen as well.

WHERE ARE ALL THESE VANS IN AMERICA?? IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY BIG CAR MANUFACTURE MAKES THESE VANS OVERSEAS.... I want one!!
Had to be imported from Japan and right-hand drive only.
You have better vans like the toyota sienna which isn't available in Europe
Which model of Kenwood do you have fitted ?
Is there a table anywhere?

Who makes that bed/seat?? I want one for my van
How much would it cost to install a pop top on this vehicle?

Si trova in italia ?
If u keep that electric door open on a sunny day would it drain the battery ?
How can it drain a battery - it only uses electricity when the door mechanism activates to open or close the door. Lighting that is switched.
why not use the back seat as a shower
Diesel or gas? L per 100?
MpG uk r different from MPG us, why?
A US gallon is different from a UK gallon. Get with the rest of the world and use liters guys!
Brilliant pricing and a lovely van. No loo?....
At 2:35... Chemical loo. ;)
