WNBC: We're 4 New York (20th Anniversary)

- It's been 20 years since the "4 New York" campaign, along with the entire station branding, made it's debut in the summer of 1992. The theme was composed by Edd Kalehoff and it just so happens that the female singer is his wife. The images were shot and edited by Pyburn Films. Although the campaign was used for only a few years, it has made its return two times. In 2002, it was used during the winter olympic games and then in 2007 the entire campaign song was revived with spicy new images. That version was sung by Edd Kalehoff's daughter instead of his wife. Given the history of the campaign and the fact that its 20 years old, I was quite disappointed that WNBC did not return it in some way this summer. So as a fan of the campaign, I decided to mix up different images from the campaigns and put them together with the original 1992 song. Enjoy.
I also hope they'll be the 30th anniversary song of we're 4 New York since 1992 for next year!
I remember all those people! A lot has changed since then.
I hope they'll be the 30th anniversary coming soon in the future.
We're 4 New York.
We're NBC.
@Martin Moore 2468 Sure we are. And I love this city because I'm 4 New York too!
@@k2playpedroariel481 I also like New York City too as well.
June 1st of this year 2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of the We’re 4 New York song since it’s launch in 1992.
@@FernandoIfillRuiz that's amazing!
I can't wait!
Beautiful quality! Where did you get the audio?
It was pressed on CD back in 1992 but you had to call to order at the time!
0:20 Julianna!! Can't believe I forgot that one of my former-neighbor's kids was in this! :D
This vid now has weird things like it was at 4.3 and no audio i may remake it😊
Since I was a kid, every single summer vacation I went to New York, I wished to hear this again. I only hear it in 2002 and 2007.
But I always have the faith and hope that Channel 4 will put it one more time.
It is so sad that WNBC did not do a 20th Anniversary version of "We're 4 New York", especially the way the management of WNBC decided to give Sue Simmons the pinkslip. Such a sorry state that the station's news cast had been since Sue Simmons left, not to mention the drastic downsizing of the new set!
To think back then, this was considered a risk for WNBC to do the promo back in 1992 and look how it has stuck in the culture of WNBC.
Hey my name is Dre, I was the kid in the redcoat at the 1:45 mark playing in the leaves with my father. I haven't seen this since then, do you have all the clips? I would love to have the version with me and my pop in it.
Maybe WNBC general manager may run into this and decide to bring it back or you guys could just email her and pop the question.
Good version, but nothing tops 1992.
It's nice to see clips from the 2002 edition, those seem to be hard to find...especially on RUclips. Thanks, as always!
Of course you fail to mention in your description That his wife is Andrea Mcardle original Broadway Annie and his daughter Alexis is a broadway star in her own right :)
This was a truly great image campaign, a real classic, very catchy!
Very nice promo for WNBC 4.
Its because Kalehoff and Mcardle recently divorced by that point (2002)
That campaign is used during Olympics.
Julie Gold was the lyricist and Curtis King is the other principal singer besides Andrea McArdle.
Wish I could get a copy of this song on CD?
In 2021 wnbc need brought back 4 new york campaign.
That was beautiful! How were you able to get all the video and audio clips?
TV Primeira, São Vicente se liga aqui...
I've never been to New York but I LOVE NY
You should visit the city but be extra careful and always check your surroundings
1:45
Was this a montage of random clips over time?
IM 4 NEW YORK
This takes me back
I throw up every time I hear this song.
So you're not 4 New York then?
sigzor302620 was that true even when the original was made in 1992
