Yes Tami ... The Sound of Music was written from the terrace of Hammerstein Highland House which is in the hills overlooking Montego Bay and its harbour. Oscar Hammerstein, and his writing partner, Richard Rodgers owned it.
Love the Jamaica love! Fun fact: all 13 James Bond novels were written right here in JA (Goldeneye, St Mary). Amy Winehouse also came to mind as Wayne was listing artists that recorded albums here. As well as being a wonderful creative environment, Jamaica has been a leader in so many other areas: First British colony with a postal service/office & first town in the western hemisphere with piped water (Falmouth, 1799). Black River was one of the first towns anywhere with electricity, our railway was one of the first anywhere as well & the Manchester Golf Club was also the western hemisphere's first. And don't get me started on athletes and entertainers. Something is definitely special about this little rock of ours.
Facts, Ian Fleming wrote the entire original series novels in Jamaica; also first Jewish synagogues erected in the Western Hemisphere, longest continuously published broadsheet newspaper (ie, The Gleaner), first of many of today’s Schedule I banks operating established branches (although I don’t rightly know how much good this has brought us) 😂 Question … how many does it take to screw in a light bulb or in this case the legs of a couple of dining room chairs 🪑 ( and shush let’s not talk about assembling the table) 🤣🤣🤣

Silent cousin here 🙋🏾♀️ just a thought, if there is a wall between the kitchen and dinning room have you thought about knocking out the wall for more kitchen/dinning space and incorporating an island. You could put the sink in the island with cabinets and use the surrounding area for counter space, stove, fridge etc against the wall ….lol I have a vision 🤔

Great vision. We are knocking out the wall between the kitchen and dining area. A HUGE island will bring the rooms together. I am really toying with the idea of NO upper cabinets too.
@@MeetTheMitchells with a large family you can never have enough cabinet space , in the kitchen. In my Opinion you’re able to conceal things that would be on the counter top and just give a very clean , spacious and minimalistic look, I think upper cabinets would be nice, good luck in the your kitchen Concept, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing…..blessings to the family always❤️❤️❤️

To this day I don't know how people shop are Super Valu.
They sell things for a bit more expensive than most places.
Somewhere will sell an Item for say $5 and Super Valu would sell it for $14.

I love Jamaicans and hope to visit Jamaica one day soon. I think two things of the many subjects that are taught in Jamaica schools are how to put a smile on someone face and survival course. You guys are hard working and are great entertainers.

Real talk Waynee, I'm descended from Dominica in the Eastern Caribbean and Jamaica through familial ties, growing up in the UK, all children of Caribbean parents spoke the Jamaican 'patwa' as it was easier to understand than ours because of the English in it. Also, we all followed Sound Systems and the Clashing Culture of the 1980s and in the UK, it was Str8888 Jamaican Patwa inna dance, so when outside of our parents houses, we spoke the Youth Culture Language of the day which was Jamaican Patwa,... With the rise of Dancehall Reggae as popular music and it becoming more mainstream during the late 90s, most of the white English children started to mimic our 'outta road' language, so now Jamaican Patwa is part of the standard English dialect across the last two generations of white British youth culture... Wouldn't change it for the worrrlllddd!!... Love you all MTM family!... :-)))

Hey Tami, quick suggestion. You can scotchgard you seats since you have young children. It will help preserve the seat covers a little bit longer
Scotchguard is reported to be high in toxicity and very flammable. There are safer options like Vectra. I was going to use Scotchgard until I found that out.
