You guys can find other games similar to Mystic Quest. All it is, is a template for EVERY Square soft game on the console. That being said, you might try Final Fantasy II (IV). It's almost as simple, but longer. Awesome to hear that you completed this with your son. That's fantastic!
@@TheRetroMartin I mean, it's honestly crap, no matter which version you play. As are ALL RPGs on SNES, but if you are looking for something close to Mystic Quest.. I'll stand by what I said.
@@retroprojections eh, I'd rather not have cut content, abilities, items and script but that's just me. There are other RPGs that will fit the bill closer to Mystic Quest.
@@retroprojectionsseems I didn't mention any - a translation of FF2 easy type would be the obvious answer. It's as easy as the US SNES one but doesn't have any cut content (in fact has additional scripting in it over the original FF4. Soul Blazer and EVO are good choices as well. EVO gets tough as balls later on of course but at the start it's so unique and fun that I'd dare any kid not to thoroughly enjoy it!
Great little game. Been a VERY long time since I completed it. Glad to hear how much fun you had playing it with the little one. I believe the main characters name is canonically Benjamin if youre interested.
Well done John, Only one to go now, I still need to hack my Mini, Actually all of Them 😂 I should actually probably start playing RPG s Again as well 😂 That's great you got to Play through this one with your boy, I hope you were doing silly voices when reading the text 😂 That's awesome that he Even named one of the characters and really enjoyed getting to know them, Play leave classics with your kids Is something I also enjoy to do, Although as they get older their tastes may be very different from your own 😂 Look forward to hearing about you smashing number 12
Very well played John and son. I try to go on at least one mystic quest a year myself.⚔️🕹🌠🍀
I feel yours are far more mystical than this game!
Mystic Quest I find to be a solid game. Sometimes an easy RPG is needed. Great job John and son 👍
It is definitely a solid well made game and it excels at what it’s trying to do but I think people will overlook it sadly!

I'd argue against that. Do NOT play FF2US on the SNES. It's a crap port of a fantastic game. Play absolutely ANY other version of it.

@@TheRetroMartin yes, but by not naming.. ANY OF THEM. You are just being a twat. 👏 Good for you.. 👎

Hey John, love that game:). Always nice to see another view of it! That if fun that you share with your son. Also, love the music of that game!
Oh nice! What did you think of it?
@@bundjohn I like that game, not the greatest, but still, it’s a fun one for me.
Nice! One more to go!
Yep!!! The last one is taking awhile to finish 😅

Yeah I will try to not force them to like the same games as me…… maybe you should play some more RPGs 😜
@@bundjohn I wish I could find the time to put in to the rpgs, I'm playing quite a bit but only Quick games with the kids
Sounds good John I have never tried this one ☘️
It’s going to be basic to play now but it definitely has a charm to it!
Just you wait until he can play FFVII. His mind will blow 😁
Oh definitely! But the question is which version 😅
@@bundjohn There is no question there! The original PlayStation, accept no substitute 🤷♂️
@@GenerationPixel I have that on the PS Classic as well 😉
