- The San Diego Zoo has released the first official footage of two giant pandas from China, Yun Chuan and Xin Bao, as they adjust to their new habitat. The pandas will make their public debut on Aug. 8.

You know they have decades of experience with taking care of pandas 🐼 from china. They are one of the only zoos to successfully breed them out side of china. The painstaking length and effort SD Zoo goes through to create habitats and enclosures instead of animals in cages should be the standard for every animal facility.
It is not even a question in anyone’s mind in San Diego that the zoo is sparing no expense or effort in their care. They are being welcomed back with love it has taken 5 years for the government of china to allow the SD Zoo to renew the contract for them.

Please ask your Mommy which one you have. Also, ask them if they can take you to the San Diego Zoo one day when they can be seen by the visitors! I went to the Zoo a long time ago... they are very big, they are very beautiful, but are also very sensitive bears...when you visit, please be sure to be very quiet around them so that they don't get frightened 😇🐼💞

I've often wondered about the, especially with primates. A gorilla who was raised in England and then is sent to france. Which language do the caregivers use? And yes, these guys are not just getting used to a new enclosure, but even the sounds, like the birds, must be different for them

@@frostyhamster3116 We know dogs can understand some amount of human commands, I don't know how often zookeepers interact with these animals but it's not a ridiculous question- and I was wondering more about body language too, if they notice those changes between homes... It's an interesting thing to think about
That’s exactly what I was thinking about. Like they must recognize some of the words they grew up with, so now do they not recognize any words? Makes me feel bad for them. Even though I know they are probably better off than in the wild.
I babysat a German Shepherd that didn't speak English. I had to learn a few German commands. He wasn't as uptight as his owner.

We can thank President Biden for renewing our breeding Program with Chkna. Unfortunately, if Trump should get back into office, China may very well end this once again. Trump had every intention of sending a nissle off to China...so don't count on keeping our program up with them if he does get into power. China loves their Panda Bears and will never allow them to be in a non peaceful environment. I can promise you that!

Seem sad , wonder how big the enclosure is though looks pretty nice.
The San Diego zoo is widely regarded as the best zoo in the world. The enclosures are very large and all the animals are cared for very well. The profits from the zoo allow them to make significant strides in the realm of species conservation, many species would already be extinct if not for the workers of this zoo, the San Diego wild animal park, and other places like them!

I believe these are now the only pandas currently in a United States zoo. All other pandas went back to China.

Due to them being only native to china, china has a monopoly over them. Every panda in any zoo belongs to china, and them borrowing some to an american zoo is pretty gracious.
