I miss lampley, Jones commentating prime GGG fights 2013-2016. I still live in the past and miss GGG days. Canelo ducked GGG 2015-2016 aged him out. He would never beat GGG in 2015.
That's why they should change boxing structures. They should make it kinda like other sports where every year the current champion doesn't pick and choose who he wants. Make the champion fight the boxer who has earned the right to face the champion. Champions at any sport shouldn't choose who they fight.

Canelo was better in 2017 then 2015.
If GGG beat canelo the first time, and second on my card almost at 37 (He won the last 4 rounds on my card for a fantastic comeback no one considers,hurts canelo in the 10th.) then commons sense dictates the 2015 version would have won 8 rounds.Those versions of GGG and his victory of that canelo in 2015, would be akin to the Bivol win over canelo. Probably a duplicate styled win in the same manner as Bivol, Back him up and land more combinations as a younger version of himself. IN sports, look up the stats on individuals.All sports greats decline slightly beginning around 34-36. Canelo aged him and bitched out for two years before signing after witnessing GGG's confimed beginning of his decline in the jacobs fight, no doubt was the start of his decline to everyone. 2014 G version would stop Jacobs in the 5th round after that knockdown.Or catch him late when Jacobs began toe to toe a few times. Young version of GGG would never let jacobs off the hook in those exchanges.
Never liked him
Born in 79 and English, you had to be a true hardworking hardcore fan to stay up until 2am every weekend sometimes, HBO is madly missed by true boxing fans. Jim was a mastermind when backed by Roy Jones Jr during shows, the perfect duo. I miss HBO, damn I'm talking many many years of flat out enjoyment.

George Foreman was way better as an HBO commentator than Roy Jones. Foreman and Lampley was the best combo.

Maybe. Then again wrong weight class and we already saw 174 is too heavy for Canelo to fight effectively at. So it's a mute point. A 175 pound guy who balloons to 200 pounds on fight night potentially beating a168 pound man who measures 5'8" isn't something to brag about bro.

So the reason why Canelo wants to move up to 175 so he can continue to hold the belts at 168 hostage. Berlanga shocked a lot of people. I think if they fought twice Berlanga is beating him.
Berlanga did nothing except he showed that he can withstand Canelo's power and duck other Canelo's power punches.
I thought before the fight berlanga had no chance, just not enough experience, maybe not enough skills. I was right on the experience, maybe half right on the skills. Berlanga showed a chin and heart, and he fought until the 12th. Where does canelo go from here? Maybe bud who really is too small but i haven’t seen bud tested. I wouldn’t mind seeing bud be tested by anyone, including canelo. Even madrimov using feints and defense all night, kept bud’s hands quiet just wasn’t a real threat. Canelo won’t fight benavidez. Tank, i hope he does fight teo. Missed jim calling fights.

Proves Canelo is a fantastic fighter, Berlanga was 193 pounds a heavyweight .
Translation: Berlanga was picked because he was tailor made for Canelo, and Canelo is ducking the better fighter, Benavidez.
I wouldn’t say Benavidez is a “remarkable power puncher,” as we saw at 175 he couldn’t dent a semi retired Gvozdyk. He’s just the biggest at 168 since Zurdo and Callum Smith with a come forward style. That’s why Benavidez was able to beat sub par prospects

Bivol was huge compared to Canelo and Canelo looked a little soft, fat and bloated at 174. That's too much weight for Canelo to carry and compete at optimum performance. You gotta remember, he's like 5'8". Canelo isn't small, he's short. There's a limit to how much weight he can carry. He's also stocky and thick, there's a limit to how much weight he can drop to also. Bivol beats a fat Canelo. Big deal.
